Alex Cy'ane or Xir?
Here's a random page from the story I'm working on now. It'd be greast for any kind of feed back, so I can figure out if I have any skill at writing. Thansks
Swinging his hands over the Gem and then under, Iviz scratched his chin, wondering how the Gem was held there. Meh, he thought, rolling back the arms of black shirt he wore under his sleeveless black leather jerkin, revealing several sheaths strapped to either arm. Making sure that all his weapons and straps with fastened and secure, shook his hands lightly and closed his eyes, recalling the route he took to find himself in his current position. “Stupid, what was it?” he spoke nervously to himself, opening his eyes to stare into the swirling depths of the Gem. “Magic, that’s it. Stupid magic.”
Not wanting to waste more time, Iviz shrugged and grabbed the Gem with both hands. As soon as his hands touched the Gem, it changed from red to white then to black. “What the hell is this!” Iviz cried as the Gem began to burn the flesh on his hands. Trying to drop the Gem, Iviz swung his arms desperately, but found his body refused to follow his demands. In a state of absolute terror, Iviz ran over to the wall as the fire of the Gem began to spread through his body, burning all the marrow from his bones and causing them to splinter, tearing his flesh. Screaming in fear and pain, Iviz began to heedlessly smash the Gem against the wall, splintering what bones were left whole and grinding the splinters into dust. As the new shards of bone tore open large gashes spewing forth blood and flames, igniting the rest of his body aflame, Iviz noticed that there was a demoniac laughter that filled him with more fear then the flames that now seared away his body.
Unable to withstand the fear or pain any longer, Iviz sought the only escape that came to mind; death. Drawing his head back, Iviz swung his head forward with all his might into the cold stone wall, shattering every bone in his face. Falling to the floor face first, Iviz laid in a pool of his blood and began to drown in it as it gushed forth from him and onto the floor, all streaming into the small depression in the stone in which his face laid. Finally, he thought as the pain began to fade, death.
You didn’t think you’d escape that easy, did you?
Wh-what? Iviz groaned, pushing himself up from the floor. Who are you?
Who am I? I am the Dark, as you humans call me. It was my Gem you tried to thieve.
Dammit, Iviz thought, the fear he experienced before returning. What do you want with me?
That’s simple; the Darks voice stated in a matter of fact tone, I need someone to do what needs to be done to have the Order and Balance restored. And since He will not allow Us to take matters directly into Our own hands, I need you.
I don’t believe in Gods, Iviz whispered to himself in fear, the panic welling up inside of him. This can’t be real.
You better believe it, the dark said just as a small white orb appeared before Iviz, just feet away
from his face. Look around you.
Obeying what he was told, Iviz focused on his surroundings. What the hell? he muttered, his fear replaced with curiosity. All around him there was nothing. Nothing but blackness that seemed to stretch for eternity. Where am I?
You are in your own mind. Except that I am controlling things right now. Notice how your wounds are healed and there is no blood. Now, back to the point. I need you to assassinate someone for me.
Yes, yes. Anything, Iviz whispered, his fear returning.
There’s no need to fear me, the Dark said, the white orb expanding every so slightly with each word. As long as you do as you are told, you will be rewarded ever so graciously. When you disobey, for example, trying to steal my Gem, you will feel pain. Chuckling softly the Dark added, mind you that was nothing you felt before. I could make pain like that become more intense and last forever.
Shuddering, Iviz shrank away from the orb that seemed to be the embodiment of the Dark. Wh-who is this person you wish me to kill?
Well, now you catch on quick. Her name is Dosa. She resides in the Aixes forest far to the east. You will start as soon as you awaken.
How will I know her?
I will help you with that when the time comes. Remember; serve me well and I will reward you greatly. This is a matter of the utmost importance, so if you fail, your punishment will so horribly painful that the space between each heart beat will feel like an eternity.
