Looking for a name of a show

k I am trying to remember a show I used to watch when I was a kid. I cant remember much about it and I am going to give as much detail that I can remember.

Please NOTE the details I list could be wrong or slightly off so feel free to interpert.

1. The show was probably created in the late 70 to early 80's
2. Premise was a guy or group of people searching for an item
3. This item could only be found via its reflection or special shine or some charecterstic that only it could do but it could take any shape
4. I remember caves and either Time travel or Dimensional travel

Could the show be Time Tunnel?

Seem to recall it was about a group of people who were lost in the Bermuda Triangle and kept walking into tunnels trying to find something that would get them home?

You've confused two different things there Ray.

The second thing was called 'The Fantastic Journey' in the UK (but 'Lost in Time' in the US) and was exactly as Ray described. It was made in 1977 and could be what you are looking for Vince.

'Time Tunnel' is completely different and is always in re-runs in the UK, being something of a cult classic. It was made in the '60's. I think it is unlikely to be what you are looking for except that Doug and Tony were also trying to get home through the Time Tunnel and in one or two episodes a small radioactive red box was sent back through the tunnel to pinpoint their position and they would have to look for it.

That show is missing one key that I am sure the show had. An item that could be anything and had a special glow/reflection/charecterstic that was the focal point of the show. I think
I am so unsure its been 20years since I seen this show or thought of it. Hell I could be melding like 3 shows together.

The only other thing I can think it could be would be 'Doctor Who': Season Sixteen: 'The Key To Time' during which Tom Baker's fourth Doctor and his companions had to assemble parts of a Key to Time. Each of the six parts was disguised as something else - a woman, a whole planet etc. The individual episodes were:

The Ribos Operation
The Pirate Planet
The Stones Of Blood
The Androids Of Tara
The Power Of Kroll
The Armageddon Factor

'Doctor Who' has always involved a certain amount of running around in caves.

Sorry, I sounded so blunt before Ray, I didn't mean to be. I find it hard to believe you have never seen 'The Time Tunnel'.

'The Fantastic Journey' I can believe. It was rubbish really and it was cancelled, but I liked it.

If it isn't 'Doctor Who' then I will keep thinking on this, we will work it out in the end, or else someone will. They usually do eventually.
