The crew is stunned to learn that the Battlestar Pegasus also survived the attack on the Colonies, but tensions run high when the Pegasus's Admiral Cain assumes command of the fleet.

****Spoilers****

Well i noticed no one here has posted in a few months so i though i'd make my contribution as i am very big BSG Fan..

I really enjoyed this episode, it was rather intence half way through as the cylon sharon almost gets raped in this episode by one of the pegaus crew and then to get killed by Helo and t he chief right at the last minute and they both get a very quick court marshal and are about to be sentanced to death as far as i remember...

what did anyone else think about it ?

I was shocked to see so much hutzpah from Ensign Roe. But really, I guess that's typical of most Bajorans. Anyway, I thought this episode was awesome and dissapointing at the same time. It just made me dissapointed in humanity given the plight of the colonial fleet. We're just helping the Cylons exterminate us.

I am really interested in seeing what happens with this new episode. the Human cylon hybrid is something i think will get very interesting.

I really thought they had twisted everything they could until this week, but I was wrong. Everything Cain said about the Galactica was true and correct. Discipline there is a joke, and they have made some serious mistakes. My theory that the Cylon Fleet is simply following them to Earth also seems to be true.

By defying her Adama is going against his training, his duty and everything he is. Yet, she is truly evil.

It did become quite intense in the middle of the episode. This is not a show for those of a weak constitution.

Anyone have ideas on what the unknown Cylon vessel might be?

Yes Adama was insubordinate, but Cain is not Mother Teresa either. They are both commanding officers making life and death decisions coupled with their innate need to show each other who is boss.

I'll pass on the spoiler of the unknown ship.

Yeah...the last show was last week...I can't wait for Season 3 this October.

Anyway, I thought this episode was awesome and dissapointing at the same time.
I agree. I though it was disappointing the way they made all the Pegasus characters utterly unlikeable from the first moment, but on the other hand they served as an excellent proof on how human the Galactica characters have become.

That was IMHO the point. A great deal of Cain's criticism of Galatica was true by military standards but the Pegasus crew showed how those standards had to be altered in order to keep there humanity.

Razor adds alot to this episode aswell IMHO as you see the difference between Cain and Adama. One had a son to give him a reason to live, the other was bretrayed by her lover and driven to essentially a death quest.

This was a brilliant episode - the build up of tension was superb, as into the two-parter that followed with the attack on the Resurrection Ship.

Absolutely superb story-telling. :)

I was surprised that Adama didn't try and play the Roslyn card.
Cain was following what she called her "imperative" which was to wage war. So was Adama until Roslyn convinced him his mission had changed.

If Roslyn as President had ordered Cain to adopt the new mission of protecting the fleet in its search for a new home, Cain would have been placed in a situation where her basis for what she was doing was no longer valid. And if Roslyn had promoted Adama to be Cains superior, it would have taken away the military justifications for her actions.

The final cinematography of this episode, where the camera pans around both Adama and Cain in their respective CICs, is a brilliant mash-up of artistry and suspense. Add in the superb scoring of Bear McCreary, and this is one of my top three episodes from the show. Utterly brilliant.
