the end of sg1

what do you all think will happen at the end of sg1. i think 2 things will happen. the public finds out about the stargate or the stargate is destroyed. waht do you all think? :alienooh:

They could leave it in the "Angel"/"ST:TNG" way, ongoing and ready for a mission... i.e. SG-1 walking into the wormhole on another unspecified off-world thing...

Or go for the "Buffy" ending, as you suggest, and either go public or have the Stargate permanently removed/destroyed...

Or the "Quantum Leap" ending and have the Ancients come and settle everything

Or the "Firefly" (etc.) ending and just stop...

Or...

Or, the 'Dallas' ending....

Daniel wakes up from pollen-induced hallucinations to find that he is still on Abydos married to Sha're and he never left. Apophis is still the System Lord and Teal'c is still First Prime. No one on Earth realises that Jack didn't destroy Abydos. Daniel dreamt the whole of the last niine years.

Don't think what the public finds out matters over much, afterall the public found out about Vietnam, and knows about the Gulf etc.

If they destroy the gate there is no option in ten years to trot it out for another wang.

So how about a Blakes7 ending- They all get wiped out?

How about the Sienfeld way...and they are all left in jail.

Or, better yet for the shippers, the JAG way...they all get paired off and married.

I guess Cassie and little Jack would walk off together in that ending.

Maybe they simply go ahead with the secret SGC and one by one the SG-1's members change...O'Neill is already out...it's less traumatic, and it's gradual...

Or maybe they find a nice planet where they can found "New Earth" and they all move there... :D

Could almost be described as the Doctor Who ending? :)
Except the replacements are as near as damit clones of the ones that left:(

i like the yeah we win, then the star gate goes public and we start colonizing other worlds. allows for ten years from now somebody to start another series.

I have no idea how the show is going to end, but they sure are doing great with the ratings.

Tangent FYI: there's a poll at tv guide asking about what show people are looking forward to the most and last time I checked Stargate SG-1 was winning with over 30 percent of the votes!!! :D

Oddly enough, there's been a similar poll published in the UK over Christmas: which TV shows the public would most like to "bring back". Stargate is at #8, and since I first read the story it's been edited to highlight that it is actually still in production!!

The story is here

That's awesome! Dave posted that in a Star Trek thread, with the original coming in first. That's so cool! That was the first thing I noticed too. Stargate is the only show on the list that is still in production! w00t...

End of SG1? I think not. :rolly2:

The Scooby Doo / Soap Opera Ending:

They unmask the Ori and discover it was all a revenge plot by Ra who seemed to be killed in the first movie, but was only suffering with amnesia.

Like some on this forum have mentioned it almost seems like the last season with Jack was the ending and a new show began.

 Any ending that would connect to the movie would be interesting. It be more like a continuation than an ending though. Like the whole thing with Anubis, but it'd start all over agin with Ra.

And DEFINITELY!!! I think it was the end of Season 8. I was talking to my cousin about the show and how she would like the show to end. She was like... end of season 8 was a good ending.

Pick your favorite epidsode of SG1. Could you conceivably stop watching the show at the episode?

If they can continue to bring in good actors/script writers etc...the possibilities are endless.

Don't want it to end at all....admit there was a point in last season where I went:eek: but I'm looking forward to each episode again.

Mitchell is growing on me and so is T'ealc's hair...exuse the pun:D

How SG-1 should end?

Hmmmm -

With Martouf coming back and taking over the world b/c he's royally p'd off that he was killed way the heck back in S4 and could hardly get a guest spot until S9! :)

No - okay - how about something else:

.....

sorry - I'm drawin' a blank.

However - I will say that the episode "Ripple Effect" renewed my interest in the SG-1 fandom.

I'm still not so sure how I feel about the cast changes, but the show's growing on me again.

Actually I saw somewhere recently that the show cannot go more than another 2 years as they begin to lose money then as the cast and crew have all been there so long that their salaries will then eclipse ant possible revenues that can be generated. Sad, but a fact of life - the show will not continue if it is gaurenteed to lose money out of the chute no matter the ratings..

Does that mean their salaries increase automatically with each season?

I wonder if the show works differently than something like Law & Order that's going on, what, year 15 or 16? Maybe more - and Dick Wolf's hoping for 20 or better? Now, I know that the crew may not be the same crew they've had from the beginning (behind the scenes crew, we all know the cast-turnover) - but that doesn't mean there aren't a couple folks on the show that might break the bank.

But hey - I don't know that much about the tv industry.

Yes...Martin Cooper said that in a recent interview...I think it was him anyways...One of the producers said it:D ...

I don't think it'll have an proper ending...It'll be seen to continue without SG-1 in it's current form...

I've read that Amanda Tapping may not be going off-world that much this year as Claudia Black will be doing more of that sort of thing...It's changing again...Cooool!!...
