I was a little disappointed by that film. I thought from your introduction it might be something really forward thinking and cool, but they already use those little robots for bomb disposal, and which are just like a MALP really.
I've heard already that they've developed that floating remote surveillance drone, which is really a "Copseye" invented by Larry Niven.
But, where were the "Soldierboy" combat robots from 'Forever Peace' by Joe Haldeman?
And, where was the personal cloaking devices they are said to be developing (according to National Geographic Magazine)?
Where is the impact armour; the flexible, breathable body armour with a zip up the front that turns rock solid on impact with a projectile?
Where are the mono-filament weapons, zat guns and phasers? Surely, they must have some new ideas for killing people more effectively in the future?
It seemed to be mainly surveillence and medical equipment, together with communications and navigation technology.
