2.15: Sacrifice

From TV.com

A woman takes hostages on Cloud Nine and demands that Adama turn over Sharon in order to avenge her husband's death at the hands of the Cylons.

What can be said about a hostage situation episode?

. . hmm . . though it logically develops from the situation . . though it is given a human touch . . it just really didn't do a lot for me story wise.

This episode seemed to be more about the characters than the plot and the characters did a half decent job of making the episode worth watching . .

. . still it's hard to get past the 2 stupid things that were done by the characters . .

Adama should have stayed hidden until his CO2 level trick worked.

Kara shouldn't have gone in with a gun. She was JUST supposed to scout out the situation and report back, right?

When military characters seem to lack strategy and planning it can make something hard to watch.

Kind of like how Stargate Atlantis frequently compromise the bases security.

I agree with the last post except... (I don't think we need spoilers?)

What did Lee hope to achieve anyway? The CO2 trick was unlikely to achieve anything more than to shorten the negotiations. He should have bided his time hiding until an opportunity arose. The gunman did not seem to be aware of the wall panel, though Ellen would probably have been unable to lie.

Kara was exposed by Ellen, not the hidden guns, but there did not seem to be a plan to her entry. If they had refused to leave the door open what then?

I see this episode as a way of writing out Billy, and renewing that business about Kara and Zak Adama that has been largely forgotten. As if she doesn't suffer enough angst already!

One other thing though, we discussed before about whether Ellen is a Cylon or just stupid. I'm still not sure now given that she blew Kara's cover and announced to everyone that she was the wife of Galactica's XO.
