As the presidential election looms just weeks away, the accidental discovery of a habitable planet sparks debate in the Fleet: Colonize? Or keep seeking Earth? Meanwhile, Starbuck leads a rescue mission of Raptors back to Caprica to save Anders and his resistance.

Another strange mixed bag of stories, including Chief Tyrol beating up Cally because of dreams that he may be a Cylon.

It' nice that Starbuck found Anders, but it was always going to be at some loss of life, and for the resistence fighters that are left it just seems too great an expense. They got back far too easily, though it's not clear at the end of the episode they will even escape. Somehow I cannot believe that they won't! ;)

OK - this is what bugged me - they anticipated 20% losses in order to achieve this rescue mission.

How many people on Caprica did they expect to retrieve - more or less than the 20% they would lose in doing so

It just doesn't make sense, Starbuck already knew there were not really that many people on Caprica

I'm not trying to say just leave them there and forget them, but if you lose 40 men to find 20 ! where is the battle sense of that

oh, aside from the fact that Starbuck wanted to find Anders again cos she lurves him.

And lovely to see Dean Stockwell, always a pleasure ..... man I still miss Quantum Leap!

Yes, I found the whole logic in the episode to be quite stupid. As you said, it doesn't make sense and no one would agree to it. It would have been different if there was something valuable there that they needed to find out, but to go there just to rescue someone's boyfriend (was there any other reason really?) is just selfish and made me really disgusted with the series. Mainly, because sacrifishing other people for your own self interest is baser than anything the cylons have done so far.
