I was reading this story about a glass pebble found in one of Tutankhamun's necklaces and I wondered if there might be a Stargate story waiting to be written there:

Obviously, some huge space battle once took place over the Sahara with Naquadah assisted Nuclear Weapons and particle weapons which melted the sand to glass.
 
Space impact? I wonder how they can tell the difference from lightening glass and "space glass"...
