Not extactly genre stuff, but I wonder if you guys can help me with this.

Years back, at the British Council Library in my city, I'd borrowed and read a book that purported to be the memoirs of Galahad Threepwood, which Wodehouse fans who've read his Blandings Castle stories will immediately recognise. It was not written by PGW but another person who adapted his style...and quite well at that. He fleshes out a lot of references that Gally drops in the Wodehouse books and puts in some more stuff.

The book was really very entertaining and the full description of the events fully matches up to the promise offered by the original references of scandal and mayhem.

I don't recall the exact title of the book (although it does go something like The Memoirs of the the Hon'ble Sir Galahad Threepwood,...) and I don't recall the author's name. Looking around at Amazon and B&N doesn't produce anything that matches to what I'm looking for.

If anyone can help me in this regard, I'd be very grateful. Ideally I should like to be able to own a copy of the book :)

I found one copy of the book at amazon.ca:

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/1870304136/?tag=brite-21

The author, it says, is N.T.P Murphy, and the exact title is
The Reminiscences of Galahad Threepwood.

I've read The Brinkmanship of Galahad Threepwood and many another Blandings novel, and of course I remember the intrigues boiling around Gally's memoirs in book after book, but I never thought the day would come that I'd be able to read that racy autobiography myself. I must admit to being wary, however, since the book was not written by the master himself.

If it explains the incident with the prawns, I might be tempted ...

Norman T.P. Murphy has done a lot of research into the Blandings novels including extensive studies into the likely location of Blandings Castle, although more recent researches from University College London's Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis apoear to have updated that theory a little.

Murphy wrote a book about his research called In Search Of Blandings. He was also a former Chairman of the P G Wodehouse Society (UK).

I know it's not the Master himself writing it but it at least sounds as if this guy has done quite a bit of research into Wodehouse and Blandings.

Well IMO the "master" himself has oftentimes shamelessly rehashed, stretched and forced stories out, appearing as a poor dupe of himself.

I had a rollicking time with the Murphy book...and thanks a LOT Teresa for having identified it :)

Actually I was quoting Teresa there. I've read little of PGW myself so I'll take your word for it....
