"Make SG-1 the first major internet exclusive TV show?" -a poll from savestargate.org. I think this is one of the best chances for not only SG-1, but also the advent of internet TV. Your vote could change the world of television.

IPTV is already coming - I've reported on it here:

and also promised chronicles that I plan to do something here within the next few years. :)

The problem with SG-1 is that it's not an issue of flagging audiences as much as rising costs - so I really don't think whether SG-1 is TV or IPTV distributed is really going to help.

[By the way, I also removed your other post on this - no need to make the same exact post in different threads. :) ]

The problem with iptv is the quality ... when I watch Stargate or any other TV show it is in High Definition on a huge widescreen TV ... moving anything to the internet (at this point at least) removes 90% of the quality of the picture.

I don't think the actors have too much of a choice, since they're just actors. Brian's right, in that the rising costs are what will ultimately require it to either end gracefully, or get cut off before the producers want it to. In order to continue, it will have to go with whichever route will be able to distribute it and offset these rising costs in the process. I can't really see internet TV being that distribution method until it's far more mainstream than it is now.
