I'm considering writing a fanfic involving Aliens, and one of the main characters is supposed to be a female Space Jockey. She's never encountered a Xenomorph before but the legends are quite there:
Long before the Humans reached the stars, the Jockeys had a VAST galatic empire. But there was civil war, and one side desided that they needed a superweapon.
You see, Jockeys see Xenomorphs as the pets of the Dark One, they are incredibly evil creatures but their effect on the temporal plane is limited. They are called the Niccarn. Jockeys did not so much create the Niccarn, but more gave them physical form. Thus Niccarn can never be 'born' or killed, merely summonded and sent back from the material plane. The Niccarn destroyed many, many planets, destroying entire Ecosystems. The only planet not effected much was the Jockey homeworld, though other planets in the same system fell victim. Other Jockey posts survived, but their empire was crushed, never to rise again. The surviving Jockeys, not all that religous at the time, made a pact with their god(s), in exchange for saving the homeworld, they and their decendants would never rest until the last Niccarn had been sent back to it's master.
Any good?
