I may never write this, but I have an idea that is so clear, I thought maybe I could get some feedback. The premise is this: despite the opening of Star Wars, it is NOT set in a galaxy far far away, but in our own. But, for the most part, so much time has past that no one knows of the "prophesies." That is until Earth is attacked by the Rakatan Battle Fleet 35,000 BBY. This causes several effects, namely the spread of midi-cloridians to earth, and the ensuring aquirement of Force powers nearly destroys the 5,000 year old Human Empire as they desperately battle fleet after fleet the Rakatans send to enslve Earth. By accidident, a researcher discovers that the Rakatan Infinate Empire exists in a film called: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Theydon't knw its based on the game, but we do. A secret order is created to pass on knowledge of this 'prophesy' until the rise of the Galatic Empire, so that things can be changed, and the galaxy won't fall apart and be open to Vong attack. Eventually, the Humans discover that they have an ability called 'Dead Zone' which can nullify the Force and other forms of paranormal activity, and with this they repulse the Rakaatans.

Zoom to the Great Hyperspace War. The Human Empire is now called the Teanaarian (Tay-nar-ian) Empire, after the Correlian designation of Sol. It is part of the Republic in it's confederated form. Christianity is thriving, counting 35% of known humans, but this is a different Christianity, which is heavily syncratic with Zoroastrian and Confusian moral values, though theology is more traditional. Christians hate force users and hunt Jedi and Sith alike as 'witches.' The Sith manage to sabotage the Holy Orders, and destory the secret of Dead Zone usuage. The knowledge of the prophesy is lost. Teanaarians still hunt Force users but are no longer a real threat to them. Over time, Jedi are despised, but by the edict of the Five Patriachs, Sith must be killed on sight. They are the embodiment of evil.

Now, the thing is there are 13 candidates for the 'Mythical Earth.' Humans know the name of their homeworld, but not it's location. Teanaar is number 11. Coruscant is considered most likey, though it does not meet all the requirements to be the Homeworld. The Homeworld is describes as having one barren moon (Coruscant has four), third of ten, orbiting one orange sun, and all Earth legends mention the following: Socrates, Moses, Jesus, Constantine, Peter the Great, Martin Luther, Columbus, Hitler, and Dajjal, who defeated the 'Submissive Heretics,' another syncratic group of Christians to form the Human Empire. Now, Teanaar fits all that discriptions except that in ANH, Corusanti civilization goes back 150,000 years and Teanaarian Civ. only goes back 50,000. My answer is that the 'Celestials' who populated the galaxy with humans also did temporal displacement. Teanaar is consiered to be a terraformed world which is why the flora and fauna are genetically tied to Humans (many world are like this), and while there is a London, Rome, Constantinople, Antioch, Alexandria and Jerusalem, they are merely named after the original as many beleive the Tigiris and the Euphrates are named after the original rivers in Genesis. Pluss, Teanaar is in the same galatic prbit as Tatooine and Naboo, making it an Outer-Rim system, and no self respecting Human wants to admit his is a Rim speices. They're the hicks of the galaxy.

After the Great Hyperspace War, the Teanaarian Empire and the Christian faith went into decline. Teanaarian space is 20% larger than CorSec, though never anywhere near as industiralized. Nonethe less, even Darth Malak treds lightly with them, as Christians are heavily armed fanatics who will gladly kill if the call for Crusade comes. Christianity, in its varing forms is considered the legitimate 'Human religion' but there is competion and few aliens join the faith. They say a Christian afraid of death is no Christian at all. Christians are now 20% of Humans and 2% of aliens.

By the time of the Clone Wars, the Conferderacy has launched a MAJOR offensive aimed at breaking Teanaarian space, even getting so far assulting Earth itself. A Rakaatan Jedi Knight and his Teanaarian padawn just cum Knight Christopher Marlow (whose parents felt compelled to give him to the order despite their beleifs. They nonetheless repeated make contact with him, so he has a sense of family, even if somewhat distant.) After repelling the Droids, Marlow makes nice with his family, stumbles across an archive store in South Africa which has the Prophesy in it (due to the Force), he is able to overthrow the cprrupt theocracy of the Patriachs that has ruled the Empire since the last direct dicendant of Dajjal was killed at Ruussan (which is monarchial bull, there are thousands of direct male heirs, but none of 'proper breeding'). The new Regent is unable to prevent the Purge, which kills the Rakaatan, or the creation of the Empire.

Worse, Christians are among the most enthusiastic supporters of the New Order, because of the strength, and promises that they won't have to fend for themselves and they like the Human dominated aspects of the Empire. Many, many Christians join the Imperial ranks. Palpatine must walk carefully, because the Christians will serve him well, as long as they do not know he is a Sith Lord. Otherwise they will rebel and while they would certainly lose, it's a headache Palpy cannot afford. People being to piece together, mostly through Holonet, that Palps is a Sith Lord, but he is such a hero people either refuse to accept it or are willing to overlook it. The Teanaarian government begins a crash rearmerant program to eventually fight the Empire while remaining nominally loyal. The Regent knows, because the EU sourcebooks which planets will be BDZed, and will try to prevent it by showing up with the media at every occasion. He also has Despeyre's plant and animal life catalouged and sampled and the geogrophy taken so that it can be rebuilt someday after the Death Star blows it up. He will NOT let Alderaan be destroyed, even if he has to go to war early to stop it. His intelligence service is called the Mossad, and it is very, very good.

But free will is in effect. Anakin choses to go into hiding with Padme at Mustafar ('come away with me, leave all this behind!'), because he figures that he will lose her forever if he doesn't, and will only lose her for a lifetime if he does. Obviously, she survives, but NO ONE who has knowledge of the Prophesy knows that. When asked how they seem to know things before they happen, the initiated will simply say the opening to the many fairytales of man: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

This is the backstory. Do you want to hear more? :)
