I recently purchased this 'Amazing Allysen' doll for my daughter... it talks and interacts with you... it's a pretty cool toy..

However, something caught my attention.. the doll goes to 'sleep' when you are finished playing with it for a while.. when she 'awakens' she talks about the dream she had...

One such dream was 'I was having the weirdest dream.. it was about.. ELECTRIC SHEEP!"

What a great easter egg find!

What does an 'Amazing Allyson' look like? I've never heard of one. It sounds like a 'Furby' shaped like a doll. All Furbies ever said was 'Big Light' though!

Her speech is quite a bit more complex than a furby... she's by Playmates toys.. I would link to it if i were allowed to...

Sounds interesting. :)

What sort of age group is it aimed at, if you don't mind my asking? Sounds like it's got some interesting programming in there. :)

For sure.. it is very advanced.. the voice recognition is awesome!

I also purchased the doll for my daughter. Today my daughter asked when the next holiday was. Allysen said tomorrow is Thanksgiving. However, today is Thanksgiving. My daughter can't find the instructions for the doll so we don't know how to change her time settings. Can anyone tell me how or tell me where I can find instructions?

Probably the best bet would be to contact the manufacturer, either by email or by phone; they will generally send you a replacement of instructions without any problem.

Simply Google for the doll (or the manufacturer's name) ... look at the various sites listed, and you should have no problem.

If you follow the above instructions you can find a customer service number easily from the manufacturers site. The manufacturer has already been mentioned earlier.

I must say that from the customer reviews at Amazon I noticed two things - firstly it does sound like an amazing product - it reminds me of the 'Young Ladies Interactive Primer' from Neal Stephenson's 'Diamond Age' - something I thought was completely science fiction until now.

Secondly, while it is much easier to complain about something not working than it is to rave about it working okay, there does seem to be a few problems with it. Having to return 3 of them seems excessive.

Whatever next! Gosh I remember my dolls if you cut their hair it didn't grown back, sometimes their eyes blinked, if they were working and thats just about it, maybe soon we can put them to working looking after the children!
