Need some help reliving the past!

I, like so many others, am looking for a series of books that I read in the 6th and 7th grade (Mid 90's). I would appreciate any help you can give me!

Information:
-Read in mid-90's
-Had something to do with pendants/tailsmans
-Main Hero was searching for them to combat an evil.
-One p/t was found in a cave at the base of a cliff that was only accessible during low tide.
-Either one or all the p/t (cant remeber) had something to do with a large deer/elk that came to help the Main Hero
-I believe it was group there may have been more kids envolved besides the main hero but not sure.
-The p/t were magical.

It sounds like The Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper.

yeah it does sound like The Dark is Rising, but it only had one grail, not multiple pendants or talismans.

Over Sea, Under Stone had the grail. The Dark is Rising had the talismans.

Definitely sounds like Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising Sequence. It's the first thing that came to mind that has both the pendant and talismans and several children involved.

After getting a reply, I bought the boxed set of the books and read them all. Thanks for the help yall, those were exactly what I was looking for. The tailsmans/pendant I was thinking of where the 6 Signs that they look for in The Dark is Rising. Over Sea, Over Stone was a dead give away to me, since I was talking about a cave!
