Which of the many Heroes that have joined the source would you most like to have survived?
Which touched you the most?

One of the characters I would have liked to have read more about was Magrigg, I felt like he died too early, before i could get to know him.

Druss . . . Should have gone in an bar brawl, on his 85th Birthday whilst drunk on Lentrian red, leaving a mess of tangled opponents around him!!

Waylender - should survive his own bolt, and after rescuing his familly in another dimension, sail across the ocean to the distant land he planed to go and be the dark hero again down there.

Can't remember his name but the pacifist knight in Knights of Dark Renown.
He'd just fallen in love and then was cornered & slain cruelly.
What a bummer.

If I remember correctly that was Nuada(sorry if spelling is wrong) and his death brought me to tears. I am not sure which character I would have liked to survived as many of them could fit that, but I think I'll go with old Bison another death that brought me to tears with his angel wings flying off into the sun

Oh too many to mention yet the books wouldnt have been so powerful had they not, perhaps the original Decado, or any others who chose thier own deaths as opposed to killing. As to Druss, the way he went was the only way he could have, anything else would have been anticlimactic.

Druss, without a doubt, next waylander, both should have gone on forever.I think he missed his chance in 'The swords of night and day',it could have gone that the owner of druss's reincarnated body,(sorry, forgotten his name),wanted to stay on the other side with his dead love, and Druss could have started with the new chronicles.
The same book i think was sad when Shakul the joining died with Stavut,a skin and joinings as friends was great, and tragically short, another sombre death as much as Druss, and Waylander.

On further reflection,i think the most tragic fallen hero, was David Gemmell himself, and i defy anyone to argue with that.

I couldnt agree more. i think decado should have lived for one, but i think all the other deaths were needed to make tha boos climatic, like Jaim if he didnt die then it wouldnt have brought up the revalution that brought the rigante together.

Who was the guy in Moringstar? He had all the hallmarks of the tragic hero. Have to agree about Gemmell, he will be missed.

Just re-read waylander 2 whilst i was on holiday so fresh in my mind is senta. He was a good character and could easily have had a book of his own if he'd survived.

just thinking about Senta, He was blond, witty and handsome, just like sieben , and as druss is the descendant of Angel and whatshername, maybe sieben and druss got along so well because they were related? I know, not relevant, but still interesting, eh?

so damn many! nauda definetly, decado (cos he was cool) waylander, serbitor (i loved him)
even tenkah (spelling is wrong i think)
in fact, pretty much most of the sensitive cute type ones who usually end up dead, or the messed up ones, such as waylander and decado.

yeah. and david himself :( that made me cry, when i learnt about it. still does really. i crave a new book and there never will be one

For me one of the main characters in Legend was Gilad (preferred him above all the others apart from maybe Druss). Really wanted him to reappear at some point...
