Hello Everyone! I have not posted for a long while as I been trying to sort out my internet connection in my new house! I was just wondering if anyone had read anything by this author? I just picked up "the war of the flowers" and I'm about 200 pages in. It's fantastic so far a nice twist on fantasy which I have not really experienced thus far. So What do you think of his work? Have you read anything by him? What do you think of war of the flowers if you have read it?

He's one of my favorite authors. War of the Flowers was also the first book I read of his, and it got me on to his books. If you like more traditional fantasy, pick up the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series. If you want a more Sci-fi slant, check out Otherland. He has a new series on the go starting with Shadowmarch, but I haven't read it yet so I can't comment.
War of the Flowers was right up my alley, as I really like the 'fish out of water' type stories. I love it when the protagonist is dragged from this world to another.

You might also give Tailchaser's Song a go. It was his first novel, as I recall, and is utterly charming. The man's just a good writer -- period.

i liked memory sorrow thorn a lot when i first read it. but now i find the ending irratating and cliched. i still enjoy it well enough, i like simon, i like josua and i like the slow start. i don't really care about shadowmarch at all. im not finding it clique with me. it feels rushed, i don't feel like i know anyone, so i won't be buying anymore. hell, i can hardly remember what happened and that's not a good sign for me

It is sitting in my pile of books I have to read. I bought it even before I had finished Stone of Farewell. After MST I am moving on to George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. After that I will start Shadowmarch. Should be good from what I have heard of it so far.

I've got a bookmark about five pages into The Dragonbone Chair! For some reason, I haven't gotten much further- not because I am not interested in the story, but because I just haven't had time to read much more with the holiday weekend and then getting back to work. Hopefully tonight!

i also liked the otherland series, a little slow and over written at times, but a scary look at the ay the world and the internet could eventually go!!

My sister recently lent War of the Flowers to me, and even though I'm only halfway through it, I'm really enjoying it. I love the sort of parallel fairy-world idea. I'm definitely going to read more of his books!

Also worth reading is Child of an Ancient City and Caliban's Hour both novella's
