Scratch that had to edit this whole post to account for the fact that I had Rhaegar confused with Prince Aemon the Dragonknight...
Rhaegar was not a harp playing hippy...or if he was he was a harp playing hippy who won the tournament of Harrenhal, crowned Lyanna Stark the queen of love and beauty and eventually would plunge the entire realm into chaos culminating in a large spike being driven through his brain pan....
On a side note I always thought it was Rhaegars guilt over Lyanna and his susequent actions that caused his knightly fortitude to crumble on the trident and result in his death....
So anyhow he was considered a knight amongst knights...an epitome of what a knight should be. (This is just opinon) He may not have been the greatest warrior or greatest scholar in westeros but he was good enough in both to be remarked as one of the upper tier (so to speak)....which makes him a sort of renaissance man whom others would follow...but definitely the superior to the Jorah Mormont in either...
