According to the BBC, he “cleans up after the team and gets them everywhere on time”.

According to SFX Magazine: "He's kind of a butler. I've always described him
as Alfred, Batman's butler, but 50 years younger. He basically looks after
everyone. He makes the coffee, he makes the tea, he drives the truck round,

but he's probably more like Radar from M*A*S*H. Just as Captain Jack is
saying, 'You know what we need right now?' he's out getting it. He's got one
or two really big episodes during the series and I must say he's a real
find. He plays fear and upset in his eyes like no other actor I know."
 
I love characters like Ianto, 'the cleaners'. It's a talent.

And it's only harassment if he doesn't like it :)
 
I would much rather be doing Ianto's job than my own. He has no reason to disguise his vodka in a bottle of lemon, lime and bitters. I do :)
 
I am just going to buy the first part of the series from the BBC shop. I think Ianto is great, he's sure to get more exposure later in the series.

Don't tell me that! I have only seen as far as Small Worlds yet!

And I would be surprised if ANYONE looked up to Captain Jack. He never carries out any of his threats. Why would you follow his orders when there is no consequence if you don't?

I actually felt quite sympathetic towards Ianto in Cyberwoman. At first. I did get quite annoyed with him when he failed (or refused) to see Lisa was going to kill them all and there was no way to reclaim her.
And when he was yelling back at Jack and saying "When did you ever ASK me about my personal life? How would you know ANYTHING about me?"
I was yelling at the telly "YES! FINALLY!!! You tell him! That's right! Ianto IS always picking up your sh*t!""

Yeah, I love Iantos character. He's well rounded and well acted.
 
apparently Ianto is going to develop more fully in series 2 as is Toshiko. Originally the writers had Ianto as a secondary character like Rhys but they liked him so much the decided to build on him so hopefully Ianto will play as big a part in every episode of series 2 as he did in "countrycide" and the one with the cybergirl Lisa, can't remember what it's called. I'm pretty glad cos Ianto is soooo gorgeous much like Jack lol
 
I love him, he always has a ''I'm scared'' look on his face though but it's kinda cute. :D He never seems to go out much with the rest of the team, hopefully in series two he will! :)
