A season theme?

Dr Who season one had 'Bad wolf' running through the series, leading to the season finale. Season two had numerous refferences to 'Torchwwod' Again leading to the finale.

Does anyone think RTD will do the same with Torchwood? If so, has anyone spotted anything, even though it's only three episodes in?

I think Capt Jack's line "The 21st century is when it all changes" is too obvious.
However, the season finale might have something to do with the severed hand in the container. Which I believe is the Doctors from the christmas episode?

Yeah, Jack may be attempting to make a clone of the Doctor, which might tie-in with the rumours about the Doctor's son appearing during season three of Dr Who. But if there's a theme to season one of Torchwood, I guess its something about the mysterious Jack and his unique ability when faced with mortal danger.

I think it's all Jack's desperation to get back to the Doctor this year...Apparently (reading in the Radio Times...Which is a British TV listings mag) The thing growing on Jack's desk that looks like a coral, is actually a TARDIS...Should be nice...Most people have Bonzai...

Have I missed something here, then? Is Capt'n Jack a Time-Lord? I thought that the Doctor was the last survivor of Gallifrey.

Captain Jack was a Time Agent, not a Time Lord.

I think the theme could be a lot of throw backs to Doctor Who until the series establishes itself in its own right.

So far lots of references, which you would expect from a spinoff, and the Cyber conversion unit, and thats only in the first 4 episodes.

I think the season theme might have something to do with "Theres something coming in the darkness"... It has been mentioned by someone in EVERY episode since they brough suzie back to life... and each time its said Jack looks more and more afraid!

Looking forward to the season finale tonight though!
