I saw this book in a Christmas catalogue, and I wondered whether it was any good. Has anyone read it? It says that it's a 'compendium of popular misconceptions', and that there are contributions from Stephen Fry and Alan Davies, but is it as funny as the series?

And me! Alan Davies is so funny, especially when you just know he's going to get the penalty points for the predictably obvious-but-wrong answer. Just wish Jo Brand would keep her mouth under control better.

A foreword from Steven Fry and Four Words from Alan Davies, that is their "contributions". I got this (among other things) for my mum for her birthday, and while it's certainly amusing, it's hardly head-turning. A nice present, but it's not as funny as watching the show.

Hehe bless Alan Davies, he's such a sausage :D

That programme has taught me so much! The amount of useless information I have in my head now! But that's the best kind :D

Some people say that there's no such thing as useless information!:) Hmm, there seem to be a lot of QI fans here (myself included - hehe!)
I might get the book, even if it's just as a companion to the series. I was sure I saw an interactive dvd game of QI, too.

I love QI! There was a question on there once about my hometown and nobody knew the answer! Where was the birthplace of powered flight? Or course, everyone thinks America and those two brothers but it was actually Stringfellow a man from Chard! Then they mocked Chard for having a name like Chard. :(
:D

I also love QI. I've always been a fan of Stephen Fry and Alan Davies is just sooo funny. I must have a look at the book.

Who isn't a fan of SF, he's a freakin' legend! He is one of those impossibly nice guys, he could be as crude and offensive as he wants and people would still love him!...He is, as he said recently on Q.I...a National Treasure! Hehe...so true!

I've read about half of it so far. It isn't as funny as the show (it isn't trying to be), but it is indeed Quite Interesting.

oof

Oh WHAT?I missed that! Damn University and lack of TV!
*Hurries away through the endless tunnels of the internet, to track down the episode*

I saw this episode today. Interesting fact about the number of the beast. I've got a book which actually suggests that the number was 616, but I was never too sure about it.

Quite frankly the whole New Testament is a bit iffy in terms of reliability.

That's an agnostic's viewpoint, and doesn't take into account the faith of the Church that the Testament is accurate, in case any Christians are offended.
