I get the feeling that Qhorin would not stand and trade blows like a dumb Tyrell bannerman. It seems that Qhorin was the crow most feared by the wildlings, even more than Ben Stark. I also do not feel that Qhorin was a man to let his emotions get the better of him in a fight, i.e. I don't think he'd be scared by red handed reavers nor get puffed up too proud when his family's honor was being tarnished. In my opinion, his fight with Jon was a huge sham... I don't think he even really tried (if he had, he'd have killed Ghost first and then turned on Jon).

As far as Victarion goes... how well does he fight when the enemy is not scared witless by his fleet's sudden attack? Does he fight effectively one on one when his flanks are not protected by a score of berzerkers? Can he fight on land when his opponent is not at a disadvantage?

Qhorin is the Obi Wan of ASOIAF.

He knew his value but gave it for the newer generation.

Hopefully he wont be on the mount rushmor of the "force"/greensight.

Went for Qhorin as he's a warrior and used to fighting on his own or with one or two of his brothers. Victarion may be fierce but I regard him as more of a 'general' than a fighter.

I just want to respond with the thought that Qhorin made most of his reputation against lighter armed, lesser trained opponents as well.

All that aside the fact of the matter Q is only known by reputation. Other than his fight with Jon ( a sham you say, and I agree) we see and "hear" of nothing specific. Other than how he lost his fingers I guess...

But Qhorin is sooo cool......I mean cmon, that whole bit about Jon keeping his Valyrian Steel sharp...a stone cold killah (my apologies Ive been watching "Pimp my Ride" again).

Oh come on Boaz...can't give a Greyjoy a break, sshheeeeech. The battle Victarion has on the deck of the Tyrell warship with a very capable opponent, who was not scared.
Like Aegon said (yes, I'm repeating what the always unworthy said ;) ), we've never actually seen Qhorin fight.
