Showing on sky one, 17th and 18th december.
I really hope it lives up to the book, but I doubt it. That was possibly one of my very favourites, and that is saying something. Fingers crossed.

I agree about it living up to the book.

But at the same time it is great to see a live action TP adaptation, and from the cast and the look of it it it could be very good. It just won't compare to the way our imaginations interpret the book...

...but then when does it ever? After all, everyone imagines things in their own personal way.
I wish I had Sky One...alas, I live in a house that time forgot.

Wow, the cast looks brilliant! Marc Warren of Hustle fame! Yay, I like him. And jolly David Jason.
Damn! I have got to get someone to tape it!

I thought Death didn't look enough like Paul Kidby's awesome pictures. Still, maybe they'll CG him up a bit and make it impressive.

Susan in the advert looked precisely nothing like imagined her, but that's just a fact of life, caused by differing perceptions. I just hope they don't miss out too much of the story, or the awesome jokes!
We're going to have to tape it too. There an unavoidable work thing. A 'party' although those never live up to the name. Still, we have the technology.

To me Susan looks just as I thought she would, how perceptions differ among people.:)

Just a wee note on Sky One this Sunday there is a behind the scenes documentry on the making of the Hogfather and TP is in it I just saw a trailer for it

Yeah, I'm getting them both recorded. looks like hogfather itself is 4 hours.
I don't know why they show "the making of" before the actual film. It normally puts me off because i have to watch them in that order if i can't record them, and i'd rather see the making of after watching the film itself.

It doesn't say! Don't tell me they've cut him out, the bit where he wants revenge against the god of drinking was soooo funny, and the whole explanation of the difference between a god and an oh god was classic Pratchett. D*mn you, sky! How could you!

Quite a few fans got tickets to the Film Premiere of Hogfather on 27 November in London, and the feedback was apparently very good. I say apparently, because I got a ticket to go, but ended up sitting on a train on the way in to London, waiting for a signal failure to be sorted out, and missed the whole thing.

Bitter? Me? Certainly not...

Looking forward to seeing what this is like, as I've always wanted to see a Discworld adaption (though remain relatively wary that much of the word-based humour would be lost [unless they had a narrator, possibly - think Douglas Adams]).

From the pictures on the website, it reminds me a good deal of "Nightmare Before Christmas". Song and dance, anyone? ;)

Oh, that's nasty! I would be so angry if that happened! That's such a shame. I suppose you've still got the TV version, but of course it's nothing like going to a premiere. Kick up a fuss and demand that Terry Pratchett come and apologise to you! (nothing to do with him, of course, but it would make you feel better at least!) :D

I think this link at Amazon shows they're going to be releasing it on DVD sometime (at least in the UK/Europe)... woohoo (for those of us without modern technology).

As for Bilious, he's played by Rhodri Meilir, who looks to be playing Rhodri (can you be name-cast?) in this year's Christmas special of Doctor Who (for those who follow such things...)

He's actually going to be in it, the man himself. I did not expect that. He's playing the toymaker.
I thought he'd be a good Albert, but there you go.

He's probably too busy writing to play a major part :)

I was a bit disappointed that death's face wasn't even slightly animated, but as i do it in my head when i read it shouldn't be too hard to translate that onto the screen :D
