A couple of other threads explain what this weird lexicon game/quasi-RPG is, and the premise our own game is built from. When I am less bushed I will return to this thread and add links to all relevant threads in this post itself.

For now, I'll assume you know what it's all about.

Ok.

First step: each of us has to write in character as a scholar with a particular angle on the historical matter at hand. The idea is to be a bunch of cantankerous, squabbling scholars contantly undermining each other's explanations of the facts.

This thread allows you to post up your chosen scholarly persona, such as 'Polymorphikos is a blue monkey from Arcturus with a bent for re-casting historical figures as Shakespearean dramatists' (this was poly's own joke).

These are the members who have so far expressed a definite interest in taking part:

polymorphikos

Esioul
Caladan Brood

Anyone else is welcome to plunge in, but this is where you have to do so. I will keep this thread open until Friday, and then the festivities will commence and no late-comers will be allowed into our circle of erudition.

Funny...:p

All right, I'm Aspasia, I'm a 104 year old exogenist who is scared of aliens, so I live in an alien-proof bunker in the middle of an asteroid (anyone could be an alien, after all). I used to be an archaeologist but I had to give that up in order to avoid the aliens.

Cool. Now me.

I am Billabot Bibilbot Blotabill, a vaguley ocotpodal creature from a far, far galaxy. I have always fancied myself a god and am thrilled that there is a sect of humans who would agree with this. I have gained access to extensive data-libraries and write voluminous monographs proving the divinity of all aliens, especially myself. I look like a cuter, bluer Cthulhu without the wings and reside in a vast aquarium buiolt in the ruins of the Colliseum. I have few scholarly credentials, but command a certain slavish respect from Xenotheist scholars.

My name is Seiboenetiks, and I am a cyborg who inhabits the vast global sewers beneath the earth. Here, I have access to the hardware and cabling of the defunct global net, and can recover data from memories, news reels and the like to detail events. I am impartial by nature, being a very cynical robot, but evidence suggests that the aliens are not gods at all. My fortress is impressive, because I am constantly living in fear that either side will hunt me down, because my research could potentially damage either cause. I also have monkey butlers, for no good reason. They are blue and wear bowler hats.

Strange people:p

I am Rane "Silver" Longfox, an alienophilic, (or whatever other long word you wanna use to describe it:p) 27 year old human, whos very keen to integrate the two races more closely, and has no real religious views on the subject... I live in a small two-up two-down flat in the great library city of Sarniporia, and spend most of my time lecturing on Aliens at the university of the same name.

(You will quickly learn that I'm "Rane Longfox" in almost anything where I have to make up a character... I reckon I must be scitzophrenic;))

I am Hasdaram, a dark eyed, dark skinned habahaba with dark hair all over my body. Dressed in a pink robe, (yes I am a male) I love doing ballet in my garden. Dressed in other robes I love to travel to let other people see that I am better than they are. In what that I am so excellent doesn't matter, it's just the fact of being the better than someone else.:p
