I think we all did....I had hoped the bracket parings would have allowed a Syrio vs A.D. in the final draw..... I would have posted the longest post of bullpuckey defending Syrio......Im guessing I would have topped out at 42 paragraphs of fine english prose......that would have been a sight to see....

I admit, I did not expect Aegon's post to about Syrio. I expected something along the lines of...

Are you kidding me? It's Barristan Freakin' Selmy! No offense, but he's gonna smash the other guy, Arth... ACCKKK! It's Arthur Freakin' Dayne! He's gonna smash Barris... OH NOOOO! It's BFS vs. AFD!!!! Now what do I do???

Edit: I'd better go ahead and get in on this one now.

Wow.
Do you go for the guy widely acknowledged to be the greatest swordsmen of his generation or the guy who's experience, skill & cunning has caused him to survive 2 civil wars, 4 kings and some of the most turbulent times in Westeros unscathed?
Tough one. I'm going to have to think it over :)

Boazie....methinks yer just jealous you didnt come up with the Barristan freakin Dayne argument....admit the truth....

And when did I ever say Arthur freakin Dayne? Never I tell you....I respect him not at all.....pish with his Sword of meteorite, and pish with his white armor and noble ideaology.....

Oh wait I voted for Arthur Dayne....nevermind, carry on.....and the lesson is, as always; Stay in School.

son of a.....joke ruined by my semi-concious posting....please begin the barrage of ghastly unfunny comments....I will prepare myself

Star light , Star bright, the first Star I see tonight....

Edit: How's that Aegon?

congratulations Weasel, you are ghastly unfunny.....and I mean that with all the mock sincerity I can muster....

Barristan was said to have been the best swordsman, not Arthur, he was just the sword of the morning.

Who is alive today basically answers it

Hmmm. Not an easy choice here. I think I'm going to go with Arthur freaking Dayne over Barristan freaking Selmy.
No particular reason. I couldn't choose intelligently, so I chose Mo.

exactly tk, we hardly know anything about arthr, except a few cool sentences, Barristan we know plenty of however.

Oh....my.....god!.....Im going through my King James Bible and it says right here.....

"And lo, when the numbered soldier of storm and the belligerent fruit-bird come unto thee in aggreement and harmony about the final warriors of contest, you shall know the day of rapture is nigh. Prepare thyself for the final days, for you shall know no other warning"

The freaking apocalypse is upon us, Kiwi and TK are in agreement....

Im gonna go hide

There is no hiding from The End. You cannot escape. It's such a BFD.

I knew i was in the bible somewhere :)

Also a thing called Déisme exists, and it is a religious philosophy i might even accept if i where forced to accept the existence of a god, wiych thankfully i do not have to do , anyhoo ^^ we'd best not get into the religion thing too much cause i dont wanna be bombed by a fanatasist (my last name in RL is Dée aka Déisme - TMI probably)

Boaz, what does BFD mean.

Ow just a small reminder that the bold has just made a gap

BFD was supposed to be a joke on two levels.

First, Aegon mistakenly posted "Barristan freakin Dayne". He either meant Barristan freakin Selmy or Arthur freakin Dayne... but it came out Barristan Freakin Dayne. BFD. Second, in the U.S. we sometimes use acronyms, actually we love acronyms! BFD is used to show how little or how much we care about something. It comes from Big Freaking Deal... except we don't mean freaking, we mean the Queen Mother of dirty words. You could use bfd like this, "John got an IPod for Xmas? BFD, I went to LA."

BFD is not to mistaken for BFE. BFE means some place far away... as in Bum Freak Egypt, but again we don't mean freak, we mean the real deal. You could use bfe like this, "Dude, sorry I'm late. I can't belive the crowds. I had to park in bfe.

The best satire I can recall of Americans love of acrostics is in Good Morning Vietnam. Robin William's character takes this to an all time high.

I have no idead if other cultures do this to the extent that we do. Yes, I know this is not the forum or thread to have this discussion.

So to stay in proper form, I'll finish by saying "Go AFD!"
