If you see a stranger, follow him.
Which books can you not get by a whole year w/o reading again?

I will start Harry Potter 1 and read the series straight through when the 7th finally comes out.
Watchers by Dean Koontz is a definite
Faerie Tale - R. Feist
Time Traveler's Wife - Niffenegger
Odd Thomas' x3 I imagine
Electronic Echoes of the Mind - Kimberlin
A View from Saturday - E.L. Konigsburg
The Mist - Stephen King
The Long Walk - King
Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Pri & Prej - Jane Austen

Oh - there are so many. Just starting a list makes me want to abandon my to read list and re-read my favs.

Nice idea!

Cool. I guess I will probably not re-read much this year. This is my expected list:

-Harry Potter- JKR
-Sword of Shannara trilogy- Terry Brooks
-The War of the Flowers - Tad Williams

And I will, most certainly re-read The book of the new sun- Gene Wolfe again :)

Hmmm. Can't say any particular book that I reread that frequently, necessarily, though I do reread quite a bit. But writers I reread at least that frequently: Lovecraft, Moorcock, Ellison, Heinlein, Tolkien, Howard, Dent. Lovecraft would have to be the most, as I read something by the man every day (fiction, essays, letters, poetry....) and I've reread his entire fictional oeuvre more times than I can count; some at least 20 times....

There are a lot of other writers whose work I reread, and quite a few books I reread ... just not quite within the parameters you mention; the readings are usually at least a few years apart, if only 2-3 ... most 5-10.

Gardens of the Moon, Memories of Ice and Midnight Tides by Erikson.
American Gods, Neil Gaiman.
Excession, Player of Games and Use of Weapons, Iain M Banks.

I usually can't go too long without rereading The Warlord Chronicles by Cornwell, what books of Martin's aSoIaF that are out, Gaiman's Neverwhere and Stardust, and of course the incomparable To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee.

I reread a lot of books, though I think the series I have read the most times is the Empire Trilogy, by Janny Wurts and Raymond E Feist.

I'd like to re read many books but it's a luxury I can't afford. Too many un read books and too little time! May be someday...:(

Funny thing is I do not re-read my books. I just love reading new books and I love having them stacked on my shelves. I get a kind of accompishment feeling when I look at them and of coarse the memories of a good read!

Me, too! I have heaps of books still to read - like you Allegra, there's too little time!:(

I re-read all my Pratchett books and Jasper Fforde books on a regular basis. I've also read all my Adrian Plass books a few times, and I'm going to read Mark Robson's books a third time when I get around to it :D
Oh, and everything I have written by Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston, and Michael A Stackpole have been read many many times ;)

Yep, same here. I have about 35 books on my list to read, and there are several books that I'd love to reread, but I can't bring myself to do it. Once Harry Potter book 7 release date is announced, I'll reread the other 6, though.

But I'll reread good books until they fall apart and I have to buy new ones!

i don't read anything that frequently, but shadow on the skin i read a lot. last herald mage series as well (just cute gayness thats all i need) and legend. i've read that a lot, and king beyond the gate and knights of dark renown. not that often that it's a yearly thing, but often enough that they're more torn than anything else. :)

alice in wonderland also

I will be re-reading The Malazan Series, prior to the release of Erikson's newest book in the series. :D

Then if I have the time, would love to re-read Edward Rutherfurd's historical fiction books, starting with 'Old Sarum'. :)

Me too, Saolta!
I rarely re-read and when I do it is inconsistent. The exceptions have been the Hobbit, the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Sword of Shannara trilogy, A Song of Ice and Fire, and A Christmas Carol (a yearly holiday tradition ;)).

Plus, my re-reading usually consists of "skimming" instead of actually reading thoroughly. I just don't have a lot of time to re-read when there are books waiting for me that I have never read at all.

Having said all of that, I do plan on two or three rereads for 2007:
  • The Dress Lodger - Sheri Holman
  • A Feast for Crows - George R.R. Martin (gearing up for A Dance with Dragons)
  • Dune - Frank Herbert (maybe)

I just got Kim Harrison's 4th book, so I think I might re-read the first 3 books before I read the 4th.

Yes, I always do this as well. Authors seem to be so slow in bringing out new books in a series, so I find I have nearly always to re-read at least the one before the new one, and quite often the entire series.

The only book I've re-read was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. But I'm planning to reread the faseer trilogy!
