So last night, I stumbled across something that reminded me of an old RPS (role playing story--a sort of online rpg where people all draft up characters and write stories in the same world, around a global-scale, central plot) I used to write for nearly 10 years ago. It really was interesting to see how horrible (imagination aside) of a writer I was back then, and how far I've come since then.

What about the rest of you? Do you still have any kind of access to things you've tried writing way back in the early years? If nothing else, it's amusing.

Oh, yeah, my hard drive is littered with things like that. Moreover, I can remember some things I started writing ages ago, thinking that they were just great ideas. Needless to say, they will never be spoken of in any sort of detail.

Yeah, mine were so bad, they're not going up on my webspace (they're actually already on the internet, thanks to the RPS's archives) until I have a few things of much higher quality to sit beside them.

I have my first novel in digital format on my PC still - written when I was 11 and 12. I didn't complete it, but it was substantial enough for that age (100 or so pages, if I remember correctly). I looked back on it recently and find it atrocious and amaeturish in many ways, but it's also not bad in others, and was a great ammount of experience for me, which has led me to where I am today.

I've still got most of the things I've written over the years, and when I looked back at them last year, I couldn't believe how my writing style has changed. Compared to now, it seems a bit silly, although the ideas weren't too bad. I wonder how my stories would look if I were to update them.
My handwriting is a lot better, too.:)

I don't have written accounts, since I'm starting new into writing. However, I do have my beloved role playing group, that likes to remind me of the good and bad plots I came up with as a game master.

I just remembered, when I was 12 or so, a friend of mine and me wrote a sequel to one of the Zelda console games. We thought it was great... if I'm unlucky, he still has it somewhere.

The same friend also recently gave me a link to a DivX file of a video where we wanted to make a movie from "The colour of magic" by Pratchett for our english lessons when we were around 15. Oh. My. God. That was so bad.
