Another update

Yeah, I saw that too.:(

There's quite a fuss about it on the forum part of his site. I hope he gets over his depression quickly and starts writing again...as selfish as that might be.

That was before someone mentioned "depression" and suddenly felt like I'd posted on big faux pas.

Luckily he's just immediately gloomy about the elections. It must be tough writing Feast of Crows with all that degree of expectation involved.

or martin writes slowly and often rewrites cuz he is in it for quality not quatity. i find this the difference between jordan or goodkind and martin you never have to worry about finding a book by the first two but you shouldnt expect quality to the level of martin.

however that being said i REALLY wish i could by a feast for crows! and after it comes out in the usa i will still have to wait longer just to buy it on a french site. THESE FRENCH!

LOL

The site has since been updated:

So where am I now?

Back at work on A FEAST FOR CROWS, mostly. Revised and rewrote one of Arya's chapters yesterday. Today I mostly worked with Sam, and a little bit with Cersei. I still hope to finish by year's end, but of course I have said that before. We will see how it goes.

As for the election, our fight (like Tolkien's road) goes ever on and on, and we must follow where we can. There will be other battles, other elections, and we are legion. The Boss says it best: NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER.

Keep reading, keep thinking, and keep voting.

This book had better be bloody good after this wait:mad: Why can't he just get on and write???!!!???  :( :( :(

Thought I'd go ahead and bump this thread for the next book...

As for me, I am getting back to work. There's good news on that front too -- A DANCE WITH DRAGONS is half-done!!!

(And before anyone asks, yes indeed, this development means that Parris was right all along. It will now probably require seven books to complete the story).

So let the complaining and waiting begin again! Or should we wait until we've at least read FFC?
