really put it all together as i've read?
I think it's time a for a little clarity to set up the 2nd half the series.
I'm in the UK, and have not read a lot of fantasy, indeed after Tolkien and some Covenant this is really my first major foray.
I knew GOTM would provide a steep learning curve and it did, i thought it a little too ambitious and over reaching to be honest but never the less enjoyable, for a 10 book series i'd expect an ambitious opening.
DG and MOI were both fantastic if a little flabby, with both maybe a little too busy. The Chain and the battle for Capustan were amazing. Deadhouse seems the most popular Malazan novel so far and it's easy to see why. I think every book has been better than the last so far.
I'm currenty about midway thru HOC and i really enjoyed the Karsa storyline thru "Faces in the rock", as the series progresses i see SE's writing getting tighter and more enjoyable, i thought several storylines thru the earlier novels were too drawn out and did not move fast enough.
I've heard The Bonehunters is a little disapointing, but the MT is the one i really want to read, it's the first chronologically and i'm hoping for some answers and some explanation in this one,
Will i be disapointed? that's my key for this series MT pulling things together as i've read.
One thing is for sure this series will get a thorough re-reading, it's imaginative, adult, EPIC fantasy at it's best!!!!
