A Shoggoth on the Roof

Hahaha! Freaking genius!

I've just listened to 'Tentacles'...Tenttttaclles! TENTACLES!

And that, boys and girls, is how the Shoggoth stays on the roof. :D

Right, now all that's left to decide is...Who wants to buy it for me?

Hah! Ah, 'tis a shame that they didn't actually perform it...an all-singing, all-dancing production of the work of H.P Lovecraft is something the world greatly needs! :D

Cthuhlu sings?!! Fantastic!

Right, we have got to see this! Let's organise a Chrons trip to the theatre :D

Just found this, as well... who knows? We might see the thing yet!

A Shoggoth on the Roof - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for the bit about Cthulhu singing on stage... I came across a page or two of the libretto some time back, as I recall... and that was one of the things mentioned about the play in the accompanying text (not the libretto itself.. at least, the little bit that I saw).

EDIT: Yep... according to this, he does, indeed, appear... in fact, it's he that sings one side of "Do You Fear Me?"

In fact, here's another bit for you're fast-diminishing sanity:

Yog-Sothoth for HPL & Call of Cthulhu

Wow, that's amazing! Especially the last bit where Cthulhu goes on a rampage, singing and crushing :D

Right, well, no one else seems to be able to do it...So I think the Chrons should rally together and do their own performance! :D

It was translated into Swedish (very good translation, too) and staged in Stockholm in 2005 at the first Miskatonicon.

*ahem* I don't suppose anyone actually captured the darned thing with a camera, did they? *sigh* I don't know when, if ever, we'll see a production put on here.....

I said it before...it's going to have to be a Chrons production!

Shotgun Cthulhu! Or, you know, maybe one of his tentacles or a wing or something :D

Lovecraft on stage????
Enlighten me if you will ,JD.
Has it ever been done?
I would welcome it!

"Shoggoth" has not been done here in the States, from what I understand (I only ran into references to it about a year and a half ago, and was a bit too stunned by the insanity of the concept to track much down for a while....:p )

However, there have been productions of Lovecraft on stage (as well as plays about the man and/or his work):

The Horror in the Theater: an H.P. Lovecraft Triptych of Terror, November 7, 2003

Also, Lovecraft's Follies, by former Brown University professor James Schevill, as well as Night Gaunts, by Brett Rutherford. There are others, I believe, but I can't recall them right off....

There are also some... interesting... musical connections out there:

BROWNE JENKYN Celtic Folk Music

It was taped, and it was supposed to be put on DVD by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society (Sean and Andrew were guests of honour), according to rumour at the con at the time. But that obviously hasn't happened yet.

Anyway, it was brilliant. Especially when Cthulhu showed up. :)
