GRRM updated his "not a blog" blog with some rather intriguing bits concerning merchandising.

Sounds to me like the Testor's miniatures might not be happening, thats the only thing I can think of that were "great products we had promised."
Any other speculations??

There are also some rather amusing suggestions as to what merchandise GRRM should look into next in the comments.... :D

On the brighter side we can look forward to all sorts of fun stuff to buy in the future!

I'm surprised no-one mentioned a Robert Baratheon pewter drinking mug :)

Interesting to see what else turns up although, as always, it's the books which'll make or break it all.

Funny how other fantasy authors seem reluctant (or maybe it's that no-one asks them!) to indulge in the merchandising area of their work. It may not be that profitable to them but every little helps with the bills and all that. I'm a little surprised Robert Jordan's WoT saga hasn't been merchandised in some way to be honest. A CCG seems the cheapest way to cash in. Don't buy/play them personally but I always was a bit of a dinosaur :)

Check out the latest on Not A Blog. Martin's office was ransacked on October 26th. He says not to worry.... all of his progress on his written works are backed up.

can't have been they left the harddrive ;)
some more job lot I think - power tools taken and such were probably their primary aim - a safe, well that might contain easy hard cash and the sword was probably something "cool" for them.
A great shame that this happened to anyone!

My grandparents also suffered a theft while their house was being rebuilt. I suppose construction sites are easy targets.

He did say nothing important aside from the replica sword was taken, so now its only a matter of wringing money out of his home owner's insurance policy. Let's hope he isn't too distracted to keep writing. :p

Would have loved to read an article about GRRM chasing down a couple of thieves waving a sword....But good thing noone got hurt :)
