Quick question?

i honestly cant remeber hold on ill do a search

ok so heres what i found there is nothing describing it but these are what it suggested about it...

  • A Möbuis strip
  • A rune symbolising a word
  • A sword and a crown
  • The Isle of the Winds.
  • A wolf
  • A design that is humans cannot understand because only a mind that consider the multiple possibilities of life like the prophecy could understand it.
to be honest it just says geometric design...so we'll never really know

Garion's amulet ... Eddings only made one comment on what was on the amulet. In Queen of Sorcery, Garion looks at his amulet and notices that it has a strange geometric design. That's it. For some reason, Garion never bothers to look at his amulet ever again.

I'm pretty curious about what the emblem is too. We know what the designs on the others are so I've always wondered why this one was not described.

Thanks Myst and Nesa. I knew that there was some kind of design on it, but no idea what. I wonder if it wasn't something to do with Riva or the Orb? I guess we'll never know.

id like to think it might be the Sword...with the orb on it... it would be soemthing he would recognize right? probably the ORb...

a thought occurs to me... What if what Garion thinks is just a weird geometric design, is actually the exact layout of the Fortress City of Riva... Although, i suppose it could just have been Belgarath's laziness to put an odd pattern on it...
I don't think it could have been anything representive... no crowns, orbs, swords, etc... Garion would have noticed that, he's quite bright after all.

Haha, Belgarath's laziness...or Eddings'? This is a bit weird though, I'd never noticed the lack of a symbol on Garion's amulet before. I like the idea that it's a map of Riva - otherwise may it has something to do with the twists and turns of fate/prophecy (completely abstract and random idea).

belgarath = Eddings... so either lol
twists and turns of prophecy huh? could be

Actually, to truly answer the question, Garion's amulet is a wolf just like Belgarath's. Beldaran/Ce'Nedra's is the Tree, Polgara's is the owl, and Belgarath and Garion have the wolf. And we can't forget Durnik and his hammer amulet, of course. :D Though that was gained a little later in the series.

As far as I remember, though, the other of Aldur's disciples don't have amulets. I can't remember if Poledra ever had one or not, but I'm pretty sure Beldin and the twins never had amulets......

It doesn't state what Garion's amulet looks like - it simply says it has a geometric design. I am sure if it was a wolf like Belgarath's it would have been described that way :)

exactly, a wolf is a distinctive animal, and Garion's not stupid... he'd have thought "hmmm a wolf. i wonder why a wolf?" certainly not an odd geometric design.
