I recently bought both Shadowmarch and City of Golden Shadow, and I can't decide which to read first. Which series would you all recommend? I prefer fantasy to sci-fi, but some folks on this board have suggested that the Otherland series isn't exactly sci-fi... What do you think?

Shadowmarch is closer to Tad's original Memory, Sorrow and Thorn classic fantasy trilogy. Otherland is a science fantasy affair but still worth a look in.
Shadowplay is now out so ony 1 more book to go to complete the series. Otherland is a completed series so read that first followed by the other 2 books in the Shadowmarch series.

Me i want to read Otherland first cause of the sci fi thing.

I didn't enjoy Otherland at all, although I know many who did. After Memory, Sorrow and Thorn it seemed to me as if it was a different author!
If you enjoy science fiction then I expect you will like Otherland, Connavar.

I have read Otherland twice already and am now close to finishing Shadowmarch. I think Otherland is great (obviously since I've read it twice) and Shadowmarch is okay...I have to wait until I finish the first book before I can really make a judgment. If you want to read something long...go with otherland. It feels more like a fantasy than sci-fi.
