Things seem to be going well between Harry and his new flame until she walks out on him... and takes Bob's skull. Now Dresden must find Bob and rescue him from the clutches of an old enemy. But will Bob want to be rescued?

There will be SPOILERS in this thread.

This episode rocked! ;)

Granted - the Bob stuff was a key factor, but it was still v. good.

I still don't quite get the Justin thing - it doesn't seem quite enough to shove Harry over. Yes, I understand, finding the person who killed your father and wanting to kill him, but a gun would be easier. However, it wouldn't have fit so nicely into the cool foreshadowing from the flashback earlier when Harry was learning the bad mojo from Bob.

That's what really gets me - the show treating the audience like idiots.

It was good. They really need to pull in some characters that Harry can count on in a crunch. Besides having Bob he really seems like a lone wolf this season. Ebenezer, or Michael, even Susan if they would allow her the brain of an investigative reporter.

The conversation between Harry and Murphy left us hanging. They didn't really resolve anything. I'm assuming she is having nightmares from being posessed in the first episode. They didn't really explain them. I'm waiting for Murphy to sign on for fighting the monsters to protect the people.

I'm a little annoyed by Murphy saying that she can't handle his 'world' right now. That is such a not Murphy attitude. Murphy (should be) all about getting the bad guys, whatever it takes. The show Murphy is so much less of a person/character than the book Murphy.

I knew Bob wouldn't sell out, I knew he would wait until the last moment to save Harry and solve all. It was inevitable. Basic plot 101. They could have given it some sort of twist at least.

I agree that we need Ebenezer. Bob can't have been his only teacher. I hope they work him in somewhere.

I think working in the Michael arc would be terrific. That would pull in many viewers on its own. Actually, now that I think about it, a spin-off for the Michael arc where Harry and Michael guest star on each other's shows often would be really cool. Someone call the producer for me? ;-)

Actually - from what we've heard from Robert Wolfe - Ebenezer was meshed in with Morgan. A key part of the tv-verse is that Harry doesn't kill Justin until MUCH later in life (5 years before the first episode), so Harry wouldn't have had much time to *need* Ebenezer. It's one of those 'changes for tv' - so Ebenezer got spiced in with Morgan. (It makes sense - book!Morgan is wicked cool, but he'd be boring on tv.)

I'm still not really loving the whole 'Hello, my name is Harry Dresden, you killed my father, prepare to die!' way they're working the Justin bit in, but everything else about the episode was well done.

Despite the fact that the scripts are very simple, this one was well-written and I liked it. But, yes, I do wish that instead of telegraphing and over-explaining, they'd treat the audience like they have some intelligence.

I have to say this series is getting really good! If, at the end of an episode, I'm left squeeing and wanting more--that's a good thing. Dresden + Blood Ties on Sunday night makes me very happy!

They definately screwed up the whole Justin, thing though. Harry's killing of Justin was colored by adolescence and abuse, not to mention black magic being forced on him, and that's just gone in the series.

It seems like they have cut a lot of the characters out of the show. It's too bad because I think the characters are really what drive all the stories. Harry would be dead many times over if he didn't have his friends to help him out of a jam. And some of his friends (like Susan) are what help him stabalize his life amid the chaos he lives in.

I think overall they have Dresden nailed, however there are several smaller things they could do to easily improve the story. It would be fun to start a thread of tips for the show.

It was super cool when he hexed his own phone.
