"Don't wish it were easier, Wish you were tougher
"Long ago in a distant land,I,Aku,the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil...But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword, stepped forth to oppose me.Before the final blow was struck,I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future where my evil is law.Now the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku!"

SAMURAI JACK!!!!!!!

Anyone seen the show???

Most definitely a damn good animated show. A mixture of science fiction, fantasy, little bit of horror, and comedy. Very imaginative and stylish all in its own. Too bad there wasn't a DVD collection set for all the episodes of Samurai Jack. If there are, I didn't know about it.

There actually is a DVD collection for each of the first three seasons but unfortunately it is only available on region 1 DVD:( .But if you are American thats a good thing:D , I saw it on Amazon the other day if you wanna check it out!

P.S=Yes I agree it must be one of the greatest animated shows of all time in my opinion!

Sure, I'm an American but I doubt my DVD player would take regional DVDs. Still, thanks for the tip anyways. I'll try and find them from Amazon.

Saw it a while back eys - My favourite eppisode was definately the Sparta eppisode, with the robots that kept re-building themselves - that was a ncie show - Also, did you know that "Aku" in Japanese means "evil"? worth a thought, lol ^_^

My favourite epidodes are....

The one where Jack learns how to jump really high from these forest folk
Also the very first episode where we see how Jack was trained by people from all over the world,I love that one!
The one where Jack first meets the Scottsman is excellent-its really funny:p

My favorite is when Jack constantly eluded his pursuers, the alien hunters who live for the hunt. By the time Jack was finally cornered up in high beams where it is impossible to maneuver anywhere, he jumps toward his death where the hunters managed to catch him. They in turn didn't turn over to Aku like they were supposed to. Sorry if it's a spoiler but hell it's a damn good episode. There's plenty of episodes I like especially the first meeting of the Scotsman on the bridge.

yes the scottsman grerat episode, samurai jack is just great original style cool hero just all in all great

i really like the episode with black jack v.s white jack ooooo yyaaaa

My Fave part of that episode is probably when Black Jack runs at white Jack screaming loudly with his sword raised, whilst Jack remains calm and quiet. It keeps flashing back between the two until Black Jack reaches white Jack and is detroyed:cool: .Its a really cool build up to the final blow and an example of just how well the series' action sequences are directed

yes that was great and i think i almost had a seizure at that spot

the animation reminds me of the clone wars animated series

I've always appreciated animation projects that weren't afraid to be different, and take chances. Samurai Jack is one of the most stylish animated series ever aired in the U.S., right down to the closing credit (Jack slicing through the Cartoon Network logo)! Now that's art, baby!

(Nice to know I'm not the only one who's memorized Aku's opening narrative!)

we are not alone!

i only see em on toonami - and i saw episode 1 for the first time in my life just recently.

and yes, the scotsman saga rules - i like the rescue of his bonny wee lass!

Yes!, I think I've watched almost all episodes; in the last one I saw; after being defeated by a guardian:eek:, though it steps aside and lets jack see something through a mirror/portal (the future, perhaps?) a bearded and much more noble (if thats even possible!) looking version of himself, though a tad bit haggard wearing something like a crown (a king?...) One of the best and unique toon's I've seen on CartoonNetwork.

I know this thread was a dead as Jack's father, but I had a dream last night where I was watching a new episode that included the Scotsman.
I used to love this cartoon, I've just looked for it on Amazon and there only seems to be Region1 dvd's and they are quite expensive. there were 4 seasons, and there is talk of a film being made. Wikipedia says its in pre-production
Aku does mean evil in japanese.
My favortie episode was where 5 bounty hunters were lying in wait for Jack and as he arrived they all jumped out on him, the tension building was great using a dripping icicle to show the time frame, all the action of the fight lasted only as long as the drip took to fall to the floor. Brilliant.

Samurai Jack rocks!

I have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD, my fav episode being where he comes across the ruins of his ancestrial home and remembers events as a young boy (cut to pseudo wide-screen samurai action). The guys who made this really knew film...
