... normal thread will now recommence!:p

Um, are you sure you're on the right forum, Pyan?;)

*sigh* Ah, hell... I may as well go ahead and commit to a couple weeks of reading the Future History stuff (Cat really being a continuation of such, as is NotB, TEFL, and -- obviously, if Cat is -- Sunset) ... but, damn, it's going to throw my research reading schedule all to blazes.... Ach! Too many books, and not enough time.... Oh, TT, do you have a lot to answer for, son!.....:p

Actually, one I'd like to see read and discussed sometime in the near future would be Double Star. It is both extremely brief, and rather meaty, and bound to raise some hackles here and there. Another I'd like considered (again, a short one) would be one I almost never hear about: Beyond This Horizon -- with special reference to its relation to Red Planet and Stranger in a Strange Land.....

Ahem - beat you to it, for once, jd!:p

Still stuck on my apparent need to re-read all my RAH books, thanks to TT!:p
Glory Road, Star Beast, Tunnel in the Sky, and Time for the Stars since I last posted here - now on Methuselah's Children.
Damn you, TT!:D

Yes, I saw that one... I was simply seconding your message. TT... that rumbling you hear? That's the peasants about to revolt.....;) :D

LOL...and I think we've already covered what my response would be to such comments. By the way guys...have been PMing with Molly...turns out we have mutual friends and have actually met before! I thought I remembered meeting a Heinlein fan with a cat named Molly years ago. Stuck in my head! Small, small, what was it you called it JD...mudball...like that one!

What a co-ink-y-dink! Though I've always believed in six degrees of separation; it's kind of strange to stumble across it now and then. Guess we broke the notion that Canada is a large country eh? LOL. Good to meet up with you again TT and looking forward to debating/discussing with everyone in the readers group. Judging by the latest posts in that thread - we may be busily lining up the books for some time to come :D How fantastic!

Cheers Molly! And hope to meet up again soon! I guess there is probably a relatively small pool of people when you combine our age, our geographic location, and our appreciation of Heinlein! It is a strange feeling to actually be able to put a face to a name in here, and the possibility of actually sitting down some time feels even a little stranger. I guess I should qualify...a pleasant face to a name (I've seen your ugly mug on your profile Pyan! LOL).

I'm sure we will meet again TT, just a matter of setting a time/place. Maybe after we read a few RAH books?

Yes, it is a strange feeling to put a face to a name (beyond the pictures that some people have posted on their profiles) but neat as well. Thanks for the compliment! :D

(I've seen your ugly mug on your profile Pyan! LOL).
Cheek! Do I go casting nasturtiums at your PP? No, I didn't like to say anything because, obviously, it had been Photoshopped to avoid scaring too many people away!:p

Touche...not photo-shopped though...just a natural shadow...however can't say as though I minded. Maybe one of these days I'll put a nice clear close-up on there and really put a fright in ya!
Oh, and I'll give you this freebie as a peace offering...I might be 20 yrs younger, but you've got more hair left than I do!

Thanks - it all comes down to picking your grandparents and parents very carefully, you know - my father, who is 80+, still has to go to the barbers at least once a fortnight or he ends up looking like Brian May, just a bit greyer!

LOL! There you go Pyan...updated my profile just to inspire some fear in you. Don't have many pictures of myself, and this one is a few months old. My hair reference?...I've since pulled out the old clippers set to a '2' and gone over the whole lid. You think those ears are big in that pic?...you should see me now!

Wow TT,
144 post already, are you trying to overtake me?I'm already fed intravenously with a mixture of liquefied peanut better and black coffee,My baboon George is bringing in the literature, the keys on my keyboard are just visible as tiny knobs,my face has taken on a blueish tinge.....

That's the secret? If I only ingested coffee! Never had a cup...tasted it once or twice...not for me! Does smell good though. Didn't even notice my number of posts...I'm almost embarassed...seems maybe the critics that say I talk too much may have a point! Especially when you consider the length of the majority of my posts...well in World Affairs and other Heinlein threads anyway.

Hmmm. You should have seen how many posts I had shortly after I got on here... and they were all about the length of yours, too (or nearly all). Even Chris was appalled!:p

JD,I was about to got to bed!Regular habit now, looking in on the Chronicles.
This is VERY offthread but.....
don't you HATE it,when U try to compare prices in the local supermarket
and some IDIOT has fiddled with the volume knobs? There you are, fiddling numbers around in your head ,with grams, liters and Euros all jostling for attention, and then U suddenly hear:phil Collins OR
"I'l will always love you"drowning out your thinking.
by that greatest non-singing voice on Earth,Mrs.Houston.Dang!

it's worse when they have announcements over the tannoy with topics such as
"manager to checkout 3", "clean up in aisle 5" or my favourite " price check on a 6 pack of 7up"
random unconnected numbers are a great distraction during any mental arithmatic :D
