Would anyone be interested in an irregular comic discussion group? I mention this specifically because I remember Brian mentioning discussing Watchmen in the Book Club, and figured that since text-only novels are liable to win out in the polls there, and since Watchmen certainly is a story worth discussing, perhaps we could go ahead with a comic discussion anyhow.

If anyone's interested, do we start with Watchmen or something else? I'd be interested in talking about anything by Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman or Frank Miller (as long as I can get a hold of it), or the Hellblazer comics (which I'm hopefully picking up the 1st trade p-back collection of next month), basically anything from the DC/Vertigo run or similar comics.

Watchmen, and i'll be in on it either way. I was planning to buy it anyway. Good idea.

That sounds like a fine idea. I had played with the idea of one starting with the Watchmen, but anyone into comics has already read it.

JP, as it's your suggestion, you're welcome to take the reigns on this. :)

I am a newbie. Rope me. The phantom is a fine series but can only sustain me so long. Man can not live on the Phantom alone.

I'm going up to the shop next week, so as long as it's decided by then I have no qualms, and leave it in the hands of those more knowledgeable than I.

Actually I'm not sure if I can take the lead on anything just now - but a group suggested reading list sounds better at this point.
Agreed. Comics and graphic novels cover such a vast choice. If you had a poll, you'll always have complains. May I add that each suggestion should be follow by a quick sentence (or a very mini-review) to sum up the interest of the book, and give the exact genre ?
