Next week, while taking the week off work, I will be catalouging all my comics and graphic novels...

It has gotten to the point where space is at a premium, and I won't be in a position to keep all of them... (some 1000+ comics)... :(

While looking through some of my old 2000AD, I came across this one, and thought I put it up there for the people who appreciate them... :D

Neat! I trust that particular one's a keeper!

A local bookstore actually stocks copies of recent 2000AD issues - but they are, sadly, way too expensive for me to buy since I can pick up a 'graphic novel', usually containing a 6-12 issue run of a specific title for the equivalent of the cost of two 2000ADs.

I don't think I'm gonna have to a chance to have too many "keepers".. :(

It seems to be the way of things... Must be because of the shipping costs to India...

Was issue 500 really so long ago?? 500-700 is when 200AD reached a real peak, and had some superb storytelling - 500+ had the Dredd in Oz story arc introducing Kraken, plus the superb Bad Company (character death city), not to forget the Grant Morrison run with Zenith.

600+ and we have the Dead Man, Judge Dredd in Necropolis, Rogue Trooper Friday, and some amazing painted Slaine and Strontium Dog work.

:)

I'm planning to move to Scotland next year, and am also deeply concerned about my comic collection...

I think I'll be spending some time trying to find a suitable place to sell most of my collection onto... :(

I hate living in a little house... I need a HUGE lottery win, and then I can give up work, store my collection and start a new one in a bigger house...

(Just watching a programme on BBC2 with a couple looking to move out of London - with a pot of £900,000 to find a house - I wept!!! I can't even scrounge up 10% of that!!! :( )

Yeah it is the twats down south who have inflated the market, thinking it is cool to play the housing game! Muttons!

Why is it so desperate that you dispense with your comics? Don't you have a shed, or roof-space?

How much space would a thousand tighly-packed comics consume? Unless you have a lot of graphic novels. Do you have any of those cheap plastic air/watertight boxes and a spare corner of the garden? Or try using said full boxes as furniture. Or find a spacially-gifted friend, or put them inside said boxes, under the floor in the crawl space.

If all else fails, I'll take a crate of old Batmans of your hands.

I have 2000AD, DC, Marvel, Crisis...

There are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Micronauts, Clan Destine... All sorts...

But I'm gonna do a nice little bit of cataloging!!! :D

if you need a home for some crisis books, i've got a little space. i managed to bring the remains of my collection with me from africa. remains, as my nephews had ravaged it when i wasn't looking. but don't fret to much. the books are thin, so you can secrete them all sorts of places and nooks and crannies. or rent a storage locker.
see, i do have some good ideas.

Storage costs money, money I don't have... :(

Ivy, are you talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths??? 'Cos I'm talking about a comic called Crisis - short loved affair...

When I've got everything catalogued, I'll post a list somewhere and put a link here... :D

For those fans of 2000AD - I got Prog 2 with the free gift!!! Have to look in a book for its worth... Might put that one on eBay!!! Or find a good home!!! ;)

And if Morning Star wants the comics with Nemesis The Warlock, I might be willing to cut a deal - I'm sure Angel won't mind!!!! :p

[EDIT]Who else thought that Judge Anderson was a babe??? :D
