Silly Author Person
So over the past weekend, I got my editorial changes for my short novel The Lunari Mask (which shall be 1/2 of DoubleDog #4 forthcoming from Yard Dog Press this year) with a deadline of April 22...
Great, I thought, since I was in the middle of rewriting another book that I am hoping to start marketing soon...
But, says I, this is a project that will be published this year, and I am thrilled to be in a DoubleDog with Melanie Fletcher. Mel's book is titled Sabre Dance, best described as Three Musketeers meets the Sheik of Araby.
My novel is a darkly humorous Pirates of the Caribbean meet Granny Weatherwax sort of affair.
So, at any rate, I start working on the rewrites my editor has asked for (yes, she knows I am fast--thus the short deadline).
But...now I have a conflict. Oh, yes. In the mail at the first of THIS week, I received a packet from another publisher, Dark Regions Press. It contains the "signing pages" for the limited edition collection Song of Silver: More Tales of the Harper Mage. I have 500 of these puppies to put my John Hancock on.
Oy...
Writer's Cramp Looming!
And if that is not enough, some other business has reared its ugly head concerning a forthcoming work--that will be delayed because of complications beyond my control--and so I am having to deal with that Post Haste...
Argh!
Life was so much simpler before I became a professionally published author.
No, I would not trade it for the world.
