I know this is a long shot, but there was an old fantasy book that I read in 5-6th grade that I loved, but I can't remember the title or author. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.
It's about a girl and her younger brother, who (if I remember correctly - it's been a couple decades) find a pocket watch in a tree in the park. The needles start to spin backwards and it takes them back in time to around the civil war era I believe. Where they meet a young soldier and thus ensues grand adventures before they are returned home.
