Prince Caspain (Narnia Chronicles)

I recently read Prince Caspian to my daughter, first time i have picked it up in twenty years. Near the end of the book Alsan creates a doorway very, very, similar to the stand alone doorways that appear in the DT series. I can't remember SK acknowledging C.S.Lewis as he normally would when borrowing ideas from other authors. Any body know any different?
Also I'm sure it's probably been mentioned on previous threads but i recently discovered the Lewis had started his own book/novel called The Dark Tower (all be it only 66 pages). Coincidences?

A stand-alone door also appears in The Last Battle, the last in the Chronicles of Narnia, by the way,also created by Aslan.

C.S.Lewis also started, but never finished, a story called "The Dark Tower"

Lewis' The Dark Tower was to be a fourth Ransom book; the collection, with that as the title piece, also has some of his darker fantasy stories. Really not sure about the King connection -- I'm not a big fan of King, myself -- but it's possible. Someone like King has certainly read omnivorously, so even if there is a connection, it could be completely unconscious.

It is unusual, because he typically goes out of his way to make sure we know when he "borrowed" an idea.

I find it hard to believe he hasn't read them though, considering he reads about 60 books a year.

King reads a sick amount of books. Which is probably why he's so good. That said, I'd bet he has read Narnia at some point. Maybe he unconciously borrowed the idea, which is why he doesn't allude to it like he normally would? Having not yet read DT, i can't say.
