Glad to see someone getting a discussion group going for shorter works as well, as the short story seems to be getting very short shrift these days -- and as the mainstay of sff for such a long time, and the form in which some of the greatest practitioners have chosen to work, I'd say it damned well deserves more respectful (and thoughtful) consideration. (By "short story" I mean everything from the vignette to novelettes to short novels or novellas.)

Incidentally, for those who are interested in the difference:

Short story - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Novelette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Novella - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Novel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And, as some of the pieces you've included are things I've read (often more than once), I may be able to join in after all, by having a brief glance over them to refresh my memory on those in certain points.

Thanks, HSF!:)
