you know i was surprised about the notable sci fi authors that don't have threads about them in the Authors section of this forum.

my all time favorite sci fi story was Autofac, by Philip K. Dick. i wont give anything away, but the final show down in the end really has some modern paralells with countries who have overfished the oceans and are fighting over the last life in the fish stocks.

The reason a lot of writers don't yet have their own subfora is that there have not been enough threads/posts concerning their work to add another to the list... yet. So the best thing to do in such a case, is to do a search for those writers and, if there are already threads on them, to get the discussion going again or, if not, to begin one yourself....

I've only read two books by Philip K. Dick: Do Androids Dream of Eletrctic Shepp and Lies, Inc. Of those two, Do Androids... is by far the best. No doubt.

The Man in The high Castle is in my to-read pile and he's someone I want to read more of.

I am surprised that more people, or maybe it is the current sample size in this thread, done't appear to have Philip K Dick. I think some of his books aren't that good (and let's face it he was so prolific he is allowed the occasional bum note) but equally he had some great books. Check out "Through a Scanner Darkly" great book - brilliant film.

I have Do Androids Dream of Eletrctic Shepp,The Man in the High Castle i plan to read soon.

But i am gonna start with Flow my tears, the policeman said.

Gav: Do a search on the site for Phillip K. Dick -- you'll find plenty of people read and admire his work; and there's been quite a lot of discussion of it. I'm a bit surprised myself that there's not been more response to this thread... perhaps it's just that people are more interested in discussing something else for the moment. But he is certainly high regarded and read by many here....

There is a thread for him in Classic SF forum, heck i didnt even know you could make threads about SF stuff here.
