I was thinking... is there anyone here, with writing skills, that could write the sequel to The Swords Of Night & Day as an Homage to David Gemmell? there are so many things to explore yet... like Jianna still existing in Askari's body... Why Decado did not killed Olek... the evolution of Harad... the "humanity" of the Jiamads... and much more! All these things could result in a great book... i dont know what you guys think, but everyone could participate with ideas, chapters, etc etc...

think about it

To be honest I dont think there is. An authors world should remain thier world with no one else dabbling in it. Yes there could be examples cited of where others have stepped in and written books yet there is the growing trend of purists who believe that it should be left well enough alone. The only book that I accept as a fair enough to finish was Fall of Kings, this is purely for the fact that the series was written along with Stella and so as she conducted the research and had Davids notes to finish it off, is the right choice.

To have someone come in and write a book in the series where no notes exist I think will more than likely change the characters, we wouldnt get the whole tale that we would want or come to expect and to be honest the reason so much worked with DG's work was there isnt anyone out there like him.

It may be best to leave it as speculation. Any other author attempting to add anything would be issued with the standard death threats and legal action, not to mention that any author sufficiently skilled to pull it off well would be better suited to writing their own series.

i think its best to let it lie. I like the ending the way it is. Like you say about the humanity of the Joinings, i think Gemmell wanted to leave it up to "us" to think about to ourselves. It puts things into perspective. And you think Olek wouldn't notice that the girl acts like Jianna:p?

The only thing i wanted to find out about Skilgannon are: how did he save Ulric's life? and could we have had a prequal about his time as Jianna general (detruction of perapolis).

We did technically get that in White Wolf. One novel that he was thinking about writing was a tale with Hewla as she did interest him. Likewise I think there was enough potential for a number of others to arise in greater detail.
