i see that the sci-fi channel in the uk is going to be showing children of dune (next monday, i seem to remember)...

for those in the world who have probably seen it already... is it as good as dune, as bad as dune, better or worse than dune???

personally, i've never read the books and my only knowledge of dune came from the film and the mini-series... :D

Children of Dune was the third Dune books, and what I remember most about it was Leto 2's concept of the Golden Path. It basically deals with Paul's children, and sets the stage for my personal favourite Dune sequel, God Emperor of Dune.

Quite a lot of adenture and intriuge in this one, but of course I have no idea what the tv version will be like.

Should be easier to adapt on TV and stay faithful to the book than Dune and Dune messiah. if you've liked the movie and the mini-series (the latter I didn't saw), it worth the look. The book deals with many interesting concepts. Especially, the ways Alia, Leto II and his twin Ghanima deals with their "Abonimation".

This miniseries actually covers both Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. Technically, it was a step up from the first minseries with better CGI and better known actors (Susan Sarandon and Stephen Berkov) and, although I liked it, I felt that the first was the better of the two.

It's still very much worth seeing and is a reasonably faithful translation from book to screen :)
