Planning to escape to Scotland next year - however, just found out Hull started it's own sff con last year, and the second one is in 12 days!!

We don;t get much - the actor who played Boba Feet, and one of the Death Star commanders - but, still, great move. :)

I'm planning to get some business cards for the chronicles-network printed up, then hand them out while I'm there. :)

have fun babe. i'm waiting for the next one at the nec. apparently they had Q there two years ago.

I said:
worldcon - quite massive - will be at Glasgow august next year - I'm marking that down in my diary. May need more business cards. :)
Well, when you go to Worldcon, I'll be the one green with envy.:D See? Even the smilie is green with envy...already.;)

Considering I'll be up north next year I might consider going to Worldcon. Would be fun to have a chronicles meet up there!

yeah, ummm the 12th, yeah, I sure wish I could go, unfortunatley the people who monitor my home detention probably will say no.....maybe soon I'll go however. ......:D (yeah I'm green with envy too)

Damn it, I miss going to these kinds of events and organising them... 500 like minded people spending a weekend getting their fill of cult tv stuff... YAY!!!

I've never been to one, but I'd love to- so maybe Worldcon, as it's in Glasgow so not too hard to get to anyway.

go for it... it would be an "experience"... i would probably know a few people there... from my years in convention organising!!! :D

It's was mainly a set of collectors stalls - mostly toys, actually. Disappointed not to see much in the way of film, comics, or literature.

There was a stall trying to sell DVD's of Star Wars - the original versions. Unfortunately, when I asked for a demonstration, it was clear they were simply filmed from the video, rather than laserdisc, and the copy wasn't the resolution you'd demand on a TV. The guy selling it goes down as one of the dogiest salesmen ever (I asked about camera shake - he said he was officially registered as blind). Time to walk away.

On the plus side, there were a couple of Storm Troopers, a Biker Scout, a Darth and a Boba Fett all available for posing photos - I got one done, but I don't have a sanner! Also, there was a full sized remote control R2D2 there that some guy from Manchester had built from scratch - it was a bloody awesome replica!

I finally mustered courage to give out the chronicles network business cards - people were happy to take them, but soon I couldn't ermember whom I had given them out to.

I didn't stay very long - just an hour or so - but it definitely made me realise I can't just wander Worldcon to promo this site - we will definitely need a stall of sorts.

Finally bought a scanner, so I can post up a picture I had taken there...
