Anyone heard/read about Martha being ditched from the say.

I think it was the Sun newspaper that had a small story on the lines of:

" her performances were not as strong as earlier episodes so she will be leaving the show at the end of the current series "

Indeed. Dave, Ice Fyre and I were having a little discussion about it the last episode thread, I think.

At the moment, all it is, is a rumour started by The Sun - the Beeb have denied it, and Agyeman's official site have denied it, saying The Sun are just trying to drag her name through the mud.

All the evidence points to this story being a load of *ahem* bull manure. They claimed last year that David Tennant was doing an Eccleston and leaving after having done only one series.
It also appears that they have claimed that Doctor Who will end after the fourth series. Also not true. They really are trying to do some damage, possibly just because it is popular. My advice is to hold your nose when these stories come up in that paper, the smell could be overpowering!:D

It's popular and so lots of people will buy their rag to read the rumours. I'm not sure how they can get away with publishing untruths but they must have some excuse. I can't see an excuse that would explain not checking your facts before publishing though.

When the disagreement with Terry Nation's estate was settled and the Daleks finally appeared, I remember the Sun's headline was that the Daleks had been brought back because of the Sun's protests. It was nothing of the sort!

I never believe what I read in Newspapers and loathe reporters. I have personal experience that in the absence of a story, they just make one up!

No offence to anyone, but anyone believing the Sun...:(

Freema is staying. Whether David Tennant stays too...that's yet to be resolved.

As I posted on a previous thread sounds like the toddler is throwing a tantrum.

I believe (but of cannot confirm) that someone on RTD staff was leaking info to the tabloids, wheather it was being done for profit or to drum up interest in the third season I dont know either.

I think either the leak has been well and trully plugged, or RTD has had enough of the tabloids and has decided to cut em off at the knees.

Now the Star or the Mirror were publishing some uncanily accurate predictions about season 3 but suddenly it all stopped, the rumours became silly and quite frankly more and more outragous this is why I think that there was some sort of leak.

Lets hope tha Martha has not been axed but it's looking good if the BBC have denied it!

Oh and dont I just ramble away! Goodness someone stop me :D ;)

They were saying last week that RTD himself has decided to stop after Season 4 and leave it on a high...

That is doubtful too. It has risen, from once being an albatross around the BBC's neck, to a staple of the Saturday night TV schedule, easily beating anything ITV can throw at it, including the "most popular TV programme ever" (as voted on a recent poll) 'Ant and Dec's Saturday Take-away'.

You seriously think the BBC will leave it on an high rather than milk it for all it's worth?

I heard RTD on a radio interview last week. He said nothing about stopping. He can't believe it's success himself. Even teenage girls are recognising him as the Doctor Who man.

I agree, they may have to bow down on a few issues to RTD, which to keep Doc Who from continuing will be no prob at all.

They have totally near re-invented a now shabby looking and very dated SciFi TV series into a new hights. The viewing figues / popularity speak for themselves. The Beeb will run this unto RTD has burned out of ideas or has totaly had enough & jacks in.

"Freema is staying. Whether David Tennant stays too...that's yet to be resolved."

I thought that had been resolved, too, with Tennant agreeing to stay through season 4.

Okay listen carefully...

David tennant is staying for series 4.

Freema is staying too.

RTD has said that he himself wants to leave after series 4 but wont unless some one who shares his vision can take over.

The BBC will not cancel it after series 4 because they are commited..

And frankly if you belive anything in the Sun then you should be shot.

You have said this only once... but what's the source (or sources, or like Luke, the sauce?)

Nice to see the Beeb are commited to Dr Who they seemed to forget in the past that it was originaly made by the Drama department. I always felt that someone in the Beeb management didn't like it and tried to kill it off by cutting the budget and moving it away from saturday nights and putting it up against, I believe, Cororanation Street. Suddenly someone has realised what can be done with a decent budget. I miss the six part stories though.

Yes, as I've said before, you sort of miss the cliffhangers - but there again, they were rather overdone, and at least we've got an extra 15 minutes every episode.

Welcome to the Chrons
,
by the way, Vladd - if you nip over to Introductions and tell us a bit about yourself, you'll meet a whole lot of other nice people!
