I have been on a month long traveling spree through my career and, during a very lucid yet nerdy moment, I thought of a (hopefully) fun idea. It occurred to me that people may be likeminded while on the road via vacation or business reasons and rely on a trusty book during down times on planes, on lengthy car rides, in hotel rooms, or even in a relative's spare bedroom.

A clever way to share your choices is to put it in a postcard form. I have submitted examples from my recent travels below:

"The Dark Tower is located in Chicago. Who knew? I have joined Roland Deschain and his ka-tet during his last two legs of his quest (The Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower by Stephen King). The field of roses are being battered by frequent Chicago rainstorms, but otherwise all is good in the famed windy city. Wish you were here!"

"The yellow brick road runs threw Tennessee. I picked up four travellers on the way---Dorothy, a scarecrow, a tin woodman, and a cowardly lion (The Wonderful Wizard of OZ by L. Frank Baum). A motley crew indeed! They told me that the famous film adaption had it all wrong. Apparently the Tin Woodman has beheaded plenty of foes in his day and the Wicked Witch of the West only has one eye. Head to Tennessee, and the truth you will find. See you soon!"

"Florida is where retirees go, and our favorite hunchback (The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo) is tolling bells in the state's capital city. Would that make Jeb Bush his new Frollo? Either way, it isn't Shrek I am seeing in the local swamps. The shotglass I promised you is on its way!"

Paris Chapters like the Sand Dunes of Yuma

"After letting my attention stray from the famous Hunchback (The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo) due to a discouraging amount of chapters dedicated to rather lengthy praises of Paris, I had not caught glimpses of ol' humped one until I found him lurking in the desert heat of Phoenix, Arizona. How poor Quasimodo withstood the 110 degree weather is beyond me.

Victor Hugo has convinced me to continue through the sting of sweat, and I am being rewarded. His narrative has returned to plot narrative, and I found Quasimodo being whipped in public and denied pity from Frollo. As crippled and ugly as his heart has become, it still was touched by Esmeralda's kindness, although her beauty is drawing the attention of rivals.

Enjoying Phoenix and, really, dry heat isn't so bad. Hope all is well!"
