finally... that JOKE of a company amazon has finally got me the four books i ordered four weeks ago that they had promised in four to five days.

so on saturday i plan on starting Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet... my wife is pushing me to hurry because she is very interested in reading a historical fiction in english.

i will try... and i must as pregnant women can be pushy and make life rather annoying at times if they dont get what they want, and, sometimes even if they do:rolleyes:

i find i have no problems with amazon - in the uk... must be just the french arm that is bad!!

and tell your wife she has more important things to be doing - like looking after your unborn child and exercising and resting and not stressing over books... ;)

I had a delay with an Amazon order a while back - turned out one of the books was holding it all back due to the publishing company. Had to log into my account to look into the delay, though, but once I cancelled the offending book, eveything else was delivered pretty quickly.

That is definitely a possibility. However I think that amazon.uk is far better in regards to delivery of books in english that amazon.fr as sometimes the books I order don't get to the Paris distribution site at the time they had originally concieved when setting a delivery date on their site. Also I must admit last year I had a similar problem while waiting for the last book in the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series; thus I think it is also the time of year with a rush in demand and delivery. I get all worked up waiting for something, as I am not a patient man, and once it gets here I am all back to being absent minded and "hee ho ho hum" again.

Amazon.fr is not good to with French books. Every time I used it the delay was too long.
