Planet Hulk/WW Hulk

Just finished reading planet Hulk, started reading world war hulk and I now have prelude to Planet Hulk on order from Amazon. Greg Pak has turned me, I am now a fan of the Hulk! Absolutely loved the story, especially the ending and the giant size hulk #1 within the planet Hulk series (I bought the hardcover complete collection of Planet hulk).

Join the club of new Hulk fans :)

I have been waiting for the event to get real started before reading World War Hulk.

I enjoy this Hulk and cant wait to see when Banner gets some control again. But i bet he is too angry and hungry for vengance to let Banner have some control.

Lol. looks like the hulk club consists of just me and you! Prelude to planet Hulk arrived in the post today. Woo hoo! Now I'm off to read it. Have you read any other of the world war hulk mini series? I'm tempted to pick up the x-men mini series and WWH front line.

I have learned not to pick up event tie that have nothing to with the main story.

Usually they are only a way to show the characters of that tie in series arent totaly useless under an event. Nothing to do with the actual story.

I will pick up only those Hulk does something in or his enemies star in them.

I've picked up a few of these. It's been ages since I last read a Hulk comic before that. I like the concept although it seems to me that they're stringing it out a little. I don't understand how Hulk can be "intelligent" without Banner though...

I can understand cause Banner isnt totaly gone even when he is Hulk.

I kinda prefer Hulk with some intelligence. Planet Hulk woudn't be half as good if the only words he uttered through out the whole series were "Hulk Smash" and "Rrrraaaarrrr"

Exactly.

I found the semi smart Hulk general in Planet Hulk arc very interesting.

I noticed in one part of planet Hulk that Banner now seems capable of reverting to and from the hulk whenever he likes. Is that something he can do now? Or was is just wrote in for ease in the story?

I just finished the Planet Hulk series(bought the hardcover collection on Amazon) and I am totally back into the comic book lover's field. I haven't really got into a comic since about 1990-1992(the year when X-Men drawn by Jim Lee hit).

I am certainly awaiting the results of WWH. But I am not really interested in buying the individual comics as of right now, more into the collections.

In reference to Hulk having some intelligence instead of the "Hulk SMASH" mentality. I really think it has to do with the simple fact of the matter that Banner is never truly gone. He is and will probably always will be a constantly existing part of the Hulk. I doubt they can truly exist without eachother. Just think, the gamma radiation basically brought all the anger, frustration, and aggression that Banner had inside of him to surface. Took him from frail to average human to nearly limitless physical strength. I would have to say that now it is a reverse. Great physical prowess with some hint of intelligence/wit. I like it. Maybe I am wrong? But I like to think I am going in the right direction.
