Has anyone read any books by this author?

I'm more than half way through The Tooth Fairy and have been pleasantly surprised at what I thought may be a light hearted read aimed at YA's. Actually turned out to be a gritty, sometimes dark read :)

*LOL*.
Yes, Rune, if you started reading The Tooth Fairy expecting it to be YA you would be very surprised.

Glad to hear you are enjoying Joyce as he is one the best contemporary fantasists. That's probably his best book but I also recommend The Facts of Life which won the WFA last year for best novel.

I've only read Indigo, but I thought it was really good. Very unusual. And you can read the plot in more than one way, which is always a plus point.

I only read an excerpt from the Tooth Fairy, but I thought it sounded really fun and quirky. I'd like to read the whole thing at some point. If I ever finish all the damned reviews I've got backed up.

he seems to have written a few stand alone books, which makes a change :)

I found this info for this author -

Dreamside (1991)

Dark Sister (1992)

House of Lost Dreams (1993)

Requiem (1995)

The Tooth Fairy (1996)

The Stormwatcher (1998)

Leningrad Nights (1998)

Indigo (1999)

Smoking Poppy (2001)

The Facts of Life (2002)

Limits of Enchantment (2005)

TWOC (2005)

Ive still only read The Tooth Fairy, which really surprised me at how gritty and entertaining it was. Someone mentioned Indigo, but are there any other tips for these books.

Book to book, consisntely one of the best authors in fantasy. The Tooth Fairy is a excellent novel as a more recent The Facts of Life, and Requeim.

His new novel, TWOC was recently released and I am awaiting it in the mail.

I have made an effort to recently pick up some of his earlier works and ordered them a week ago, as everythig nI have read by him has been nothing short of excellent. I'm waiting on Dreamside, Dark Sister, and Smoking Poppy.

I would heavily recommend The Facts of Life, however, even though Joyce is an incredible author, he is not one that ingratiates himself to most fans of fantasy with limited vision; but if you enjoyed Tooth Fairy, it was no aberration - he is a terrific author.

Forgot about this shipment I was waitng for in the mail. Great reminder. Thanks!

Desperate for new reading matter, I recently borrowed The Tooth Fairy from my local library. I thought it was absolutely superb and will now be hunting down his other works. To that end, for anyone interested, I've discovered his website:-

I haven't read anything by him yet. I have Limits of Enchantment on my TBR pile.
